^ It's not selfish, KD - it's just something of the human nature. We all want to be loved, and I'm incredibly lucky to have that someone special. I've been in your situation before, trying hard to please someone and my problem was ignoring the issues. As for best friends, like boyfriends/girlfriend they are always harder to manage than they look. My best friend is someone I see almost every day, and by God we get sick of each other - but we're there for each other at the end of the day, and our arguments always seem to be over, petty, insignificant stuff.

Enough of me though, I know we don't really talk but you've always seemed like a cool person to talk to, and its evident a lot of people around here like and appreciate you. I haven't got any solid advice, aside from saying that Skype is where most of the action takes place. I'm going to try and revive TinyChat over the summer too which will be like another MLK chatbox, but without the rules and a chance to video/voice call for people who don't have Skype. I know that doesn't equate to you finding what you're looking for, but I'm hoping the community can get stronger, as I intend to stay.

As happy and as thankful as I am to get to go on vacation this September, I sort of wish we'd be going abroad again. Don't get me wrong, I love going to our chalet in Skye--we've been going there for ten/eleven years or so and it's like a secondhome to me. It's a beautiful place and we always have a wonderfully relaxing time, and I'm so excited to see my pup's reaction to having all this land and sea as her own playground. I know she'll love that. But I do wish we'd maybe go somewhere else for a change. As much as I hate flying and can only stand it for about four hours maximum, I loved going to Spain last year. Sun, beach, pools. That felt like a real holiday to me. I guess I'm stuck in that mindzone that getting out of the country is the recipe to a real vacation, even though many people never experience that.

I know it sounds a bit petty But it's just something I've been thinking about. Me and my best friend suggested going to London early next year, and I might ask her if she still wants to do that. It'd be better if the first vacation I went on without my parents was still within the UK, I think. Problem is it's pretty expensive, especially considering it's her first time going and I'd love to give her the full experience. If we book it early, though, we might get lucky. I hope she's still up for doing that...
