@Marizzle and IMNW: It's not so much for me as it is for my siblings. I guess it's so he knows what they do instead of homework/chores and who takes what food (there have been times when food was specifically for him, and when someone else took it, they wouldn't own up to it). So, yeah...

Basically, he's hoping the cameras will put some sense of responsibility into the kids. Personally, I think it's quite extreme, but, in my house, there never were such behaviors, as I used to nearly always do what I was told and, if not, I'd "confess" right away...personalities, I guess. Just hope those aren't a permanent measure...good luck!

Alright, if I can write out the notes for the next three topics and fix the document so it matches the rest of the layout, maybe that'll be enough for the first day. 20 pages a day seems reasonably efficient.

Cameras do not instill a sense of responsibility here. This is just a lunatic's attempt at 'control'. Sure someone may behave 'normally' under surveillance, but what do you think is gonna happen when they're not being surveilled anymore and haven't understood why their actions are wrong?

It's similar to the idea of beating children in which you only teach them to avoid being hit. It doesn't help in instilling values, it only risks making children violent and resentful towards the parents if they don't grasp the message of why.

^Yeah, I also see it that way, but I actually was seeing the whole thing from his point of view, not mine. Personally, I believe that the more controlled someone is, the worse they'll behave when they aren't under anyone's supervision. It's the whole "They can't tell me what to do now!" thing.

^ Are the other siblings aware that they're being filmed, though? Perhaps ignorance is bliss in this scenario. Either way, I don't want to be there when they do find out. I know I wouldn't be too happy. I think I'd lose a lot of trust in my dad.

"Oh maybe their fear of this camera will make them do what I want because I'm too inept to teach them proper dicipline myself."
