You can't assess the worth of a person relative to society with any degree of accuracy. Believe me, I've tried. But it doesn't work. Everyone is different, and everyone is capable of doing something in their own way. Attempting to determine the value of a person is always going to end badly for everyone involved, including the evaluator, the evaluatee, and every other member of society.

A very large fraction of the human race is worthless, considering only the ability to take care of oneself, in terms of completely autonomous self-sufficiency relative to society as a whole. That's very difficult, if not impossible to achieve. That's why we don't live isolated and alone. Civilization exists because we're not autonomous. And if/when civilization ever dies off, it will be because civilization itself isn't autonomous, either. The point is, we're all pretty worthless if you think about it that way. Almost everyone needs someone else to do something for them.

But, another very large fraction of the human race is worthless, considering only ethics and morality as the sole parameters for analysis. That's a bit more of an accurate way to assess this, I think. And, that being said, I know you're not one of those people who doesn't deserve to live based on the morality of their deliberate actions alone, so you're automatically less worthless than probably half of the American population, if not more.
