Why do my female friends all seem cursed to end up with idiots?

What's worse is that the guys who are NOT idiots are the ones who end up alone. It's spectacular how bad people are at finding the right person for them. My theory is that any idiot can ask a girl out which is why so many of them end up getting girlfriends, but is also why so many relationships fail. Everyone is so desperate to be with someone, we end up choosing people who are not the right person for us.

Thus, statistically, guys like me and many others who actually want a girlfriend who we actually do care about and is the right person for us not just "the girlfriend"... Are much less likely to find one. It takes brains to ask the right person but when you do, they're taken because some dude who just wanted a girlfriend has already taken them.

I wasn't that nice when I finished with my last girlfriend (I've long since apologized and been forgiven, we're Facebook friends) and I sometimes wonder if 11 years of being alone is some sort of punishment. I also sometimes wonder if repeatedly seeing girls I care about being hurt by guys is some sort of punishment.
