actually, there's a thing in the TLK6NA books that tells you the meanings of the characters' names at the front of the book. I'll check and see what language it's supposed to be.

I'll get back to y'all on Banzai's name...I was wrapped up in World History and C++ homework and the awfulest hold up at the checkout of a store yesterday

he is described as a Gold lion with scar like hair, and maybe he faved Mufasa because of his golden looks.

well, there are fan-prides that have preferences to a certain fur color or that don't like hybrids, etc. but I don't think Disney was aiming for a racist lion. maybe self-absorbed in that case?

Zeke wrote:Well I know for sure that Banzai is Japanese, but I dont know if it means something else in a diff language. Wait, what does Taka mean again?

Majordomo wrote:No, no it isn't. "Banzai" is very much Swahili, and means 'to skulk' or 'to lurk'. Bonsai (with an s, not a z) is the art of miniature tree care, and is a Japanese word and pastime.
As far as Scar's name goes, I certainly like "Scar" better. It suits him better than Taka.
