What do you think of the 3D version of TLK? *SPOILER ALERT*
I thought the 3D was excellant, even though there weren't alot of noticable 3D moments. It was my first ever 3D movie so I have nothing to compare it to XD
For me that was kind of the point,a lot of movies have ''too much 3D'' where you just get stuff flying at you just for the sake of the 3D and not for the sake of the movie,so TLK is different in that sense.
Excellent review of the 3D movie! :) I also agree about "Morning Report"; was definitely relieved to see the original was kept rather than the song. The start was particularly epic, in my opinion, particularly with Zazu flying in (just looked so close to me I could've reached out and touched him). Definitely an experience not to be forgotten or regretted! 8-)
Thank you! Yes,it's much better this way with the old scene. Hahahaha, yeah that was the most noticeable 3D moment.
I don't have the eye of an artist, so I didn't catch anything that was redrawn. Also my eyes (for some reason I don't understand) do not register the 3D effect. For me it was worth the price of admission (all 4 times) just to see Lion King on the Big Screen again. The one thing I did notice is that they removed the clouds from when Mufasa's ghost leaves.

@ TheIvanMuse: Great souvenir 8-)
You don't really have to be an artist to notice it,I just noticed how the gestures and faces were different and also some camera angles.
Thank you!

I caved in and saw this in the cinema, twice haha! Seems like the numbers are going to be as impressive here in the UK as they were in the USA, because I saw it once with 3 family members and some other people, and again with four other friends. Seems like the nostalgia factor is what people are looking for when they watch it.

Anyway, the film there is not really much to say about, it is the film we know and love in 3D. And the 3D itself coming from someone who has seen a good number of 3D movies. I said it before the film even came out, and it turned out to be true so I will say it again, the 3D is not about throwing things out the screen, it is about depth of vision and things appearing to be further in the screen than others.

If you have played a 3DS or seen anything in stereoscopic 3D before, you will know what to expect. It is really only debris and stuff that really comes out the screen, or obvious 3D shots where things are close to the camera on purpose. Which TLK being created as a 2D movie, does not have much of. But the effect is still a nice addition.

So is it worth getting a 3DTV just for TLK 3D? No. But if you would be using it for other things as well, then sure.

Haha,I knew you wouldn't resist. VICTORY IS MINE! :nukayay:
Yeah I agree on the nostalgia factor,as I felt it too, seems like it's a good way from people to relive it as well as show it to the younger generations. So that the spirit of The Lion King would live on... :ghost:

When I watched it at the cinema, I didn`t really think the 3D format added anything special to the excperience, though it felt amazing to see it on the big screen (again) :D

I personally loved that they didn`t include the Morning Report song, as I`m more of a fan of how that scene was originally.

In general, I loved seeing the movie at the cinema, both in Norwegian and English.

I watched it in the cinema and it was great, the only thing that sucked was that it was the Dutch version. I like the English version better. I bought the 3D blu-ray when it was released so I can sit back and watch it again and again in English. Love it. It's the same movie but then with a little extra feature, which IMO brings something good to the movie. (and it's 1080p)

I haven't seen it yet D: I was gonna see it a few weeks ago, booked my ticket and everything but then I got sick and couldn't go. They only show it on weekends here and I've been busy pretty much every weekend since then. Not sure how long it'll be here for but I don't really have anyone to go with now anyway. Would it be really sad of me to just go on my own lol? I don't mind going by myself usually (done it a lot since basically none of my friends have the same taste in films as me lol) but TLK is just that kind of movie you should go and see with a bunch of friends. That's what I think anyway. I'd feel pretty sad sitting there all by myself xD

Yeah, it didn't add much, it was still a very subtle change, which was the only way to do it without making it too excessive. Yeah, the original is better. Lucky you,I never had the chance to see it in English on the big screen. :dissatisfied:
I watched it in the cinema and it was great, the only thing that sucked was that it was the Dutch version. Yeah,as I said, I can relate to the dubbed version being worse... It would be nice to actually have an hd-tv to watch the Blu-Ray on it.
I haven't seen it yet D: I was gonna see it a few weeks ago, booked my ticket and everything but then I got sick and couldn't go. Nah,why would it be sad. If you ain't got no one to come with you then go watch it alone. After all, how many times have you seen it alone while you were at home anyways?
