Brainstorming

Hi! Welcome to the Feedback forum.
Before reading anything or asking anything; please check out the FAQs. Your question might be in there. However if you want a better understanding after reading the FAQs, like if it didn't explain it good enough, then by all means ask your question.

Please read the following before posting in this forum...

In this forum you will see an Announcement, and several "sticky" topics. The announcement is the Universal Board Rules. If you are new, read this before doing anything else! The sticky topics will stay above and separated from normal user-made topics in the forum. This is because they outline important information about the board. If you see a sticky topic concerning your issue, please reply with your question or concern in the correct topic. Moderators will see your reply within these topics. Before asking your question, be sure to read the topic and its first page especially. It contains information about your issue that is valuable and may even answer your questions. If the topic does not answer your question, ask your question within the topic, not the forum. If no sticky topic concerns your issue, then you are welcome to ask your own questions by creating a new topic within the forum.

Thank you for keeping the Board Help forum organized!
You can report moderators exactly the same as normal members (which when you think about it, its what they are any way). You can also PM a different staff member about the issue and if that was not enough we have the feedback form too.
And if THAT still is not enough, the staff are actively encouraged to ensure other members of the team are behaving rationally.

I say again, this whole thing could have been sorted in one very easy way - stop being so dayum strict...
Have rules, do not overly enforce them, quit using them as reasons to rid yourselves of people you don't like and done, simple, hello, Bob is my aunty.
I'm afraid you are talking to the wall there, because there wont be any change for a VERY long while. I also believe it's too strict on this forum, but theres nothing that can be done about it...

And I really DO think the staff these days have more rights then normal MLK members. For example if one of the mods/staff does something which normally requires a warning, I think they would talk out of it politely INSTEAD of giving that mod/staff member a warning straight away like happens to normal members. I dont think the MLK staff is always fair, even if they claim they are. In my opinion I think Moka should personally run this forum ALONE like a dictatorship because he doesn't seem bad at all to me, and he would be more likely to talk things out and think about other options before a ban occurs.

No. Just no.

I agree with Noah on the voting idea, or there should at least be some consultation with the other mods before issuing something as permanent as a permaban. I dunno how the staff works but that would seem like the logical thing to do. I once saw a mod (won't name names) completely lose it and ban someone for disliking the board skin... Out of control stuff like that could be prevented if the mods really cooperated more. Each seems to have different ideas and interpretations of the rules. :P

I'm going to put it my two cents:

One: Swearing CANNOT be allowed! This is a LION KING FORUM. The are CHILDREN on this site. Most parents DO NOT let their kids swear and they do not want them reading it on a TLK forum. It's as simple as that. We can't have swearing because believe it or not past your swearing brim hats there are LOTS of people who do not swear and think of it as immoral, out of their values, ect. And if you people can't see beyond your little plot of land out there then you need to take a bus and move out into the real world.

two: I've changed my mind, I think no BS modding should stay.

Three: The Voting idea is good too, I like it.

That's all I got for now.

Correction, this Was a lion king forum. Now it is 95% groups of friends hanging out in the den and membersHQ, 5% lion king. Again I am all for the NSFW section. I thought we were gonna try that one?

And no, of course i didn't mean to forbid the word drama. I am just saying that the people who are discussing don't start the drama but the person dropping the word "drama" does.

You know that works both ways. I can just as easily say that there are people who DONT get offended over words on the internet, who DONT view it as immoral because life is too short to be getting all worked up over a little bit of swearing here and there.
The fact is most people here do not care about it and a good few of us are over 18 anyway. Its never caused any real problems has it? Nope, its just a rule for the sake of being a rule and also there are still word censors so what is the problem?

What the parents think is irrelevant, if they are too stupid to understand that people CAN post offensive stuff on the internet and that its out of the control of the staff, then they shouldn't have let their kids on in the first place, either that or they didnt read the clause that states exactly this.

I'm sorry, this just seems odd to me but I'm pretty sure there are hardly any members who are under 13's and by definition teenagers are considered to be between the ages of 13-19. Also swearing is everywhere nowadays. We all just have to face the facts that kids today are being exposed to bad influences as opposed to say ten years ago when such things didn't exist. I'm not saying that the new generation of youth is bad, I mean I myself am a teenager but back then there was at least some decency.

Yeah those were much more conservative times. If you ever studies Shakespeare or history then there is a good chance your tutor explained this already.

Hear hear, seriously. It's a lion king forum aimed at young people, meaning there are young people on here that don't need to see bad language.

Mmm, clearly the focus of the forum is not TLK!

I mean, no offense, but some of you guys are acting like swearing is, I don't know, breathing. I can't drop the F-bomb on here? GOD **** IT HOW CAN I POSSIBLY EXPRESS MYSELF? Seriously, when do you really need to swear? Because you think you can't get your point across otherwise? Because you find it funny? It's just unnecessary on a forum for a -children's movie-. Mah two centes.

Oh. My. God. You people are crazy. Just because young kids don't post regularly around here does not mean there aren't any! They're always around surfing the forum, joining up but then deciding against it, it's just a part of the forum life. We can't go around swearing everywhere because we don't need any more reason to have parents forbidding activity or kids getting bad internet influences. My god, you people just can't handle the fact that you can't swear, it's like you can't go through life without it. If you want to swear everywhere and all of that stuff then go do it somewhere else, but in a forum like this it can't be allowed. Just because you can't handle no swearing does not mean it should be allowed just like that. Yes it may be more common these days in your group of friends and your way of life, but apparently you guys don't get out much because there is a world out there and there are millions and millions of people who don't swear/swear very little. I'm not saying no swearing is something that should be a rule on every forum or anything, but the fact of the matter is there are young children here every single day and we can't be offending them with the f-bombs and what not. It simply can't be done. And if you can't handle that then you need to just get over it and move on.

^Firstly I agree, that swearing should not be used regularly on MLK if at all. I mean like you said not everyone swears, but then you have people who swear on a daily basis in their conversations (which is just sad) and then we have the people in the middle who swear only if they are angry, frustrated or provoked. I, for one am in the middle but not often as it's pretty hard to make me angry. Also I'm sorry about not thinking that their are no younger members, I forgot that most kids have access to computers nowadays =P. And I couldn't care less which way the swearing rule goes but as long as it benefits MLK.

oh. and calm yo tits.
