CISPA

Ehem, a lot of the problems we have come from the fact that we still have freedom and the right to be free and poor. You could easily restrict personal freedom and claim that there are no poor, hungry, sick, dissenting, etc... That's what China does, that's what North Korea does, and that's what the USSR did.

Yes, we can't save all of the poor. Why? Because the poor are not swarming into Norway or the Netherlands to improve their lives. It's much easier to fix a country when everyone are the same and the population is small and constant. It's much harder to do that when you help some people, only to have 10 times the number come in during that time.

We can also still change our government if we want to. Yes, our system is bad. But it's the best one there is.

There is a very simple way to tell which nation is the best: Poor people around the world still want to get into the U.S. to live a new life, not to other nations with 'better' governments.

1. If you let poor people from other countries in your country, thats your problem an the decision of your politicians. Conclusion bad politics. Illegal immigrants have no rights so they are invariably discounted.

2 the right to be free? Don't make me laugh. No abortion, death penalties, no gay marriage. That's not freedom. That's stupid ignorance from the leaders.

3 again no. It is by far not the best system. You have nothing to base that on. Just nothing. Norway with its political system is still the number one on the HDI (human development index) please leave the "corrupt list blahblah" and "not accurate" arguments because they are extremely invalid not to mention stupid.

4 poor people come to your country ad they come to mine or any other country in Europe so again that argument is based on nothing. The only difference is that illegal immigrants come from mexico.

We can argue all day, and really, both of us are talking to a Image.

There is no perfect nation in the world, and there never will. I think that, as corrupted as my nation is, that there is still hope for it and that it's the best government in the world. I also think that your government is worse (and a 50% tax rate won't help your cause). And yes, the HDI list is bad, and saying that is isn't is just as wrong as saying that is is completely wrong. Needless to say, I don't qualify it as good proof.

What makes me believe strongly against your style of government is bad is my upbringing: my parents grew up and lived in the USSR, and I experienced first hand that culture. I would much prefer the freedom to solve my own life and a free-for all lifestyle over nothing for everyone. And before you say that "Norway isn't the USSR", look at history: All socialist nations end up the same.

Give me liberty or give me death.

I have yet to spot a single fact in that piece of text. While you are giving your opinion I'm arguing with the facts. Those are the official numbers which are accepted all over the world as true! whether you accept them as true is completely irrelevant (not accepting them is just ignoring the facts just because you dont want to see them) The HDI are the numbers brought by all the countries in the UN, which includes yours, mine and Norway. The HDI is based on wealth, health, economic growth, GDP, life expectancy, birth-rate. death-rate and standards of living. I have yet to see you disprove one of my arguments. You are giving your opinion which is completely irrelevant because you have no facts to support that.

And a generalization like ''All socialist nations end up the same'' is stupid. saying that tho whole of Europe or East only is exactly like the USSR is really a stupid remark. Again you have NO evidence to base that on. And even if it were true, those ''Socialists'' are doing better than you!

And that's assuming that what you gave me is also fact and not opinion?

And the HDI is also meaningless. Let me give you an example: Canada. It is much more socialist than the USA, and is much more European. I know for a fact that if I lived in Canada, I would already dead. Why? Because a medicine that I had to take for a few years that was literally saving my life was deemed to expensive and banned there. I am certain that most European countries also banned it for the same reason. So yes, I think my nation is better. My life depended on it, thank you very much. (So you do live longer in those nations, assuming you don't get a decease that is expensive and hard to cure). Which also makes me doubt that those socialist nations are doing better than me because I know for a fact that at least in Canada, people with my decease are far worse off.

And a higher tax rate: Who's right is it to tell me what to do with my money? I earn what I earn and I do with it as I please, not the other way around. If you think that the government knows better what do do with people's money, look above for a case against it.

And back to CISPA: I also see this as a sign that the USA is on the right path. People should have a right to be able to propose such outrageous laws that will never pass. And it's a good thing that they will never pass because of our constitution.

I gave you facts but you just reject them because you don't want them to be there. You are giving me an example. So your life is the proof that the HDI is wrong? Wow man seriously? I see no way in which that tells that the numbers on the HDI are wrong, because they are not. Give me some facts, some actual sources which prove that the HDI is a scam and not true. The drug was probably banned for a reason and not because they hate you or want to take your freedom. You are comparing one little thing to the whole country. ''my drug was banned so those countries suck, have no freedom at all and are underdeveloped''
No.

Yes we pay more taxes. Lets see what for... oh right! When I lose my job the government will give me money so I can actually live and don't starve to death. When something is wrong with e.g. my heart, and it is fixable with expensive surgery my government will pay, I don't die from something that is completely fixable. oh and last, When I retire the government will pay me with more then enough money so that I can live my life. That's what I pay taxes for. I don't pay taxes for more soldiers, tanks, jets and so on to invade another middle-eastern country. (oh and according to the numbers on poverty and unemployment in the US, the government DOES know a better way to use the money)
