I use a Wacom Intuos3 9" x 12" tablet and I haven't had any problems out of it yet. I think it was between $400-600 but I'm not sure. :P I got it for a gift. Any of the Wacom tablets are worth buying though. I know a lot of people who have a Bamboo fun and say those work pretty well and they're cheaper.

I would recommend getting the largest size you can for your money. ^^ The more space you have to draw on, the better, in my opinion. :D

With mine, I have to look at my computer screen while drawing on the tablet. It takes a little getting used to for sure, but it's not as tough as it sounds. xD There are some models though that do have a built in screen but they're pretty expensive.

:D Hey LightningPaw! Sure I can give you a few tips. :)

- Practice a lot! Try to draw everyday if you can. The more your practice sketching, coloring, etc the better you'll get. <3

- Try to use photo references for the subjects your drawing. Google is a really awesome place to find photos of big cats. Keep using refs until you feel like you have your hand trained to draw feline anatomy...even then, refer back to photos to make sure your still keeping everything where it should be.

- Study other artwork. Find out what you like the most about a certain artist's style and see how you can add that into your own style. :3

Hi Nilkie!

It's really no problem at all! Your picture doesn't look like it was directly traced from mine and I don't mind people referencing from my pics. It would be nice to get a little credit for where you got the idea from though. <3

:D I do draw all my pictures on the computer though. I use Photoshop Elements 5.0 and a 9x12" tablet for almost everything I do.

You'd have to know a bit about basic HTML coding first. I upload the small buttons you see on my devArt to Photobucket, then replace the link code with the url to the character's profile page.

...it's kinda hard to explain. :P

Of course I can. :D I'd be glad to give you a few tips. Let's see...

- I'd definitely encourage you to practice as often as you can. Keep a sketch book handy and sketch in it as often as possible. xD I think I've filled up 4 or 5 since I started in 2007. c: It really does help you get better.

- Don't worry about how bad you think your art is, just draw! I've seen more than one person quit doing art because they thought they'd never be as good as -insert name here-. ;3 You'll never know how good you'll become unless you keep at it.

- Use photo references as often as you need. After awhile, you'll be able to draw what you want from memory. But while you're learning, study pics by other artists and photos to understand how something works.

- And last, if you don't understand something really, look up tutorials on how it's done. There's plenty around the net, especially on deviantArt. ;3

xD I hoped those tips help a bit. If you ever need any help about anything, don't be afraid to send me a message. ^^

Uploading is pretty easy. On your profile, there should be a button that says "Submit" near the top. Click it and that will take you to the upload art page, then just fill out what it asks you. ;3

When you upload a pic here, there should be a tab on the side that says "tag". Click that and a list of chars will pop up at the bottom. Just find your character a click tag. ;3 Easy as that.

Hmm..I was going to do my half fully colored with simple cell shading. Nothing too fancy so if you want to leave your half in flat colors then that's ok. :D

A reference sheet is basically a pic showing others what your character looks like. ;3 I always just draw out my char and put what colors I use for their design.
