Character Description

Sarius:
Pronounced: Sair-ree-us
Species: Eurasian lynx
Personality: Skittish, sumbmissive, insecure, caring, loving, protective
Bio: Sarius is an easily frightened young Lynx who happened to wander into Lightning Empire after
escaping his rutheless owner. While he was a human 'pet' he learned to use his senses very well.
He is usually the first in a group to hear, smell, or even sometimes see something new. However,
when he doesn't see anything coming when it does come he is usually slow to respond because it
frightens him at first.
Sarius wants nothing more than to protect his adopted home. He prefers to stay out of the other
Empire's buisness but will intervene when needed or when he thinks the issue threatens his Empire.
He wants to grow up to be the best gladiator he can but he is unsure if he can do it because of his
ability to be easily frightened. He worries every day that he isn't good enough.
Background: Before Sarius came to the Empires he was used as a training dummy in a wealthy man's home. The man would chain him to a wooden pole and have the other much bigger and stronger cats attack him. Sarius, barely able to move from the big chain would have to manuever the best he could to escape the sharp claws. His Dad would even take blows at him, trying as hard as he could to have his owner notice him just so he could attack his son.
Sarius lived in fear every night thathe would have to fight for his life again, so he trained and fine tooned his senses to hear and smell well into the building. He always knew ahead of time and had time to muster up courage, though courage alone cannot make the blows less painful. His mother
would also be forced to watch because she was locked in a cage only meters away.
One night after a hard fight Sarius wanted to get to his mother. This is when he noticed that his chains gave a little as they were old. After throwing himself many times and giving himself wiplash, he managed to break the chains. He went to his mother who told him there was no time to save her. He took her gem and attached it to his metal collar. Before he left he made sure to promise he would come back for his mother at all costs, he thinks about her every day now and refuses to take off his
gem.
