Rhythm of the Pride Lands is an album that was released on February 28, 1995. It originally started as an independent project by Jay Rifkin and Lebo M and included performances inspired by, but not featured in The Lion King film. The album focuses primarily on the African influences on the film, with many of the songs sung partially or entirely in various African languages. By April, 1997, the album had sold more than 900,000 copies and by October it was certified platinum.

Some of the songs on Rhythm of the Pride Lands were used in later projects, such as The Lion King on Broadway and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride.
