Chapter Twelve: Disrupted Plans Part One
Days. More days passed, and soon, Nuka stood next a now mature Vitani. Despite now being mature, an adult, she was still caught up on Kopa. Now that she was old enough to comprehend the deep feelings she had for him, she longed even harder for him. She usually got away to see him once a moon, if she was lucky. All these times she had tried to make it last, but it all ended too quickly.
Nuka looked over her once, still gasping. "You what?!" he exclaimed, closing his mouth and sitting down. "Its as I said," Vitani said. "I can't help it. I'm just... not feeling well enough." She lay down, resting her head on her paws. "'Sides," she said, looking up at him, "Your my big, strong, brother. I'm sure you can manage." Nuka chuckled. "Well, I guess, termite," he said, smirking. "But remember... One day, you'll owe me a favor." Vitani nodded and sighed, wordlessly sealing the deal.

Authors' Note: Yeah, a bit shorter of a chapter. Not much to write, but it took me a nice 5 minutes. Yet another foreshadow is applied. I've made about 5 in the series so far, so anyways, you can feel free to try and find them. Anyways, look today, At max, 2 more chapters!

Chapter Twelve: Disrupted Plans Part Deux
A sevennight passed, and soon, the whole of the outlands stood infront of Zira. "It is time," Zira said. "Time for us to shine. Out moment of glory grows closer with each passing minute. Nuka," she said, turning her attention to him, "Are you and Vitani re-" She stopped, narrowing her eyes as she spanned the crowd over once. "Nuka?" The single word was sugar-coated with a honey of death. Vehemently, she padded up to him. Grabbing him, she said, "Where. Is. She."

Nuka sputtered. "Well, you see," he said. "Funny story about that. She...uhh...well.... she wassent feeling well, hasnt for the past week, and, when I woke up today, she was... gone." He winced as she tightened her grip, then dropped his maw, falling to the floor. "You three." she said, motioning to a group of lionesses. They stepped forward and saluted. "You are my fastest runners. Yanchi, you search the outlands. Djasi, you search the Pride Lands. Njana, you search the Jungle. I want her found." She waved her paw, dismissing them. "I want you to continue the plan alone, Nuka," she said, turning away. "Kiara hunts in 3 days. Prepare and roll out." she hopped up on a rock. "Kovu. To me." Kovu wordlessly jumped up next to her, sitting rigidly. "We start soon," she said. "Very Soon."

Three Days Later

A gentle breeze blew through Kopa's mane as he sat next to Vitani, nuzzling her. She leaned happily against him. "I've left for good," she stated plainly. "I'm sick of it. All the want to kill. All of mothers'... I mean Zira's plans to kill you and Ki..."

Kopa looked over to her to see why she had stopped talking. She was shivering; he could feel it. "What? Whats wrong?" Kopa asked, startled. He had never felt her shiver this violently before. "Kopa," she said in a voice almost too soft to hear, " Kiara is going to die on her hunt today. You have to convince her not to hunt!"

"How do you know all of this,?" he asked, ears flat against his head. "You're tricking me!" He jumped up, standing defensivly. "What, were you going to kill me in my sleep after your 'fake love' ploy?"

"What are you talking about?" Vitani demanded, tears at her eyes. "Why would I trick you? I've loved you since we were young! Think, Kopa! Remember!"

"Rafiki came to me and told me to watch out, that someone close to me would hurt me in more ways than one some day." Kopa said, unblinking. He did not move. Infact, if he did, his muscles Clenched, tightening.

"Kopa," she said, her voice shaking, "Think. Would I do anything to hurt you? I love you for who you are!" She put her head on her paws, sobbing. "I only know about this because Mother had plans that she told me! I'm merely repeating them! I was part of them, but by leaving them, I left the plans! I took myself out of them! Why dont you get this!" Exasparated, she surrendered herself to ferverent crying, unsure of what to do. Sobs wracked her frame as she lay there. Kopa, not quite sure of what he could be of use to do, attempted to step forward and sooth her, but she hissed at him, then threw her head into her paws again. "What have I wrought? Kopa asked no one but himself as he slowly backed out of the cave, utterly perplexed.

"Dont even think about leaving," she said, standing up. "You cant run away from parenthood." She wiped her tears away with a claw and looked at Kopa's face, slightly amused by the priceless expression on it. "You heard me right. You are going to be a father. You cannot run from parenthood. I just hope you can handle more mood swings like this." Kopa stepped into the cave and lay down, utterly speechless.
