Descent Into Darkness

Luckily for Chernobyl, Rien didn't look back, he continued running further into the unknown. His wounds are untreated, and are prone to infection if left untreated.

Looking up at the sky Chernobyl realized that it was about to rain. Looking for a place to shelter on the barren wasteland. She was barely able to pick out a cave in the mountain ahead of her. With reluctance She started to make her way to it.

Rien's venture into the unknown was being detoured by the droplets of mist that began to shed across the land, and Rien knew within minutes, it would become another down-pour. The only thing visible in the horizon was a lone cave, and he decided to go there and make camp to treat his wounds. Though he'd be finding more than a campsite when he arrives.

As the downpour started Chernobyl sprinted those last few steps until she reached the cave. With a relieved sigh she started to groom herself as she settled down in the back corner.

Rien made his way to the very cavern, but stopped outside, scenting something, despite the rain pounding the scent away. He peeked around the corner to see Chernobyl, unknown to him, cleanising herself. How would he reveal himself, or would he?

Chernobyl lifted her head and snarled at the lion.

The lion was startled by the lioness's sudden snarl, and he knew he had to say or do something.
So, he said," I'm not gonna hurt, or do nothin' to ya," he said, showing pain in his tone as the rain continued to drench him," I just need a place to sleep-" he said in a lower tone, unsure of her reaction.

Chernobyl looked closer and saw that it was the lion she was following. With a regal nod of her head she gave him permission to enter, and went back to cleaning herself.

He was relieved that she didn't try to chase him off. He was in no condition to fight, and would lose if he chose to fight. He slowly walked inside, feeling unwelcome, kept some distance between he and her, and began mending his wounds.

Chernobyl looked up as the strange lion started to lick his wounds. "What happened to you?" She asked as she stood up and stretched. While waiting for him to answer she padded over to the entrance of the cave and watched as the rain continued to fall. With a small smile she laughed. No one will be able to follow me in this now. My scent, my tracks, it's all washed away now, she thought. "Just like the rain washes away the history of where I've been, so will it wash away my past." She murmured quietly.
