You are directing a TLK 2 remake

Gosh, there are so many things.......

1. Not messing up the colours on every single character

2. More background info on Zira and the outsiders. Also, add some sort of explanation as to what happened to the cub at the end of TLK which quite obviously wasn't Kiara.

3. Make Kiara more like Nala, rather than just a female version of Simba. Develop her character more. Give her some depth.

4. Better animation overall (it's not terrible compared to other sequels, but it could've been better)

5. Not change Simba and Nala's personalities as much.

6. NO TIMON AND PUMBAA

7. Score by Hans Zimmer, songs by either Tim Rice and Elton John or Stephen Schwartz, Alan Menken.....aka people who know what they're doing.

8. Overall I'd aim for the story to be told from a different perspective; add some depth and drama to it.

There's probably more but these are the main things I'd change if I were to direct a remake of SP.

Okay, I'll list my thoughts:

1. Like everyone said, have an clearer background story on Zira's pride.

2. Related to #1, have a flashback being told by Zira about her exile.

3. Give Nala more screentime.

4. Show Kovu's training.

5. Remove the animal Congo line during Upendi. That was the only cheesy part in the movie.

6. Have more scores just like the first movie.

1: Take out Kovu's scar. Sorry but I just find it cliche and unimaginative.
2:Have a back story of the outlanders. Maybe why they were banished in the first place, and why they didn't appear in the first movie.
3: I totally agree with TBCC. Timon and Pumbaa served an important role in the first movie, but in the second, all they did was keep the kids happy. Lets face it, without them the movie would be all 'I want revenge and so I shall kill you' war, blood and manic hate. Without all the fart jokes and the arguing, we are looking at a movie intended for a older audience.

1.It would be more fun if there were more cubs. Maybe a younger sibling to Kiara I don't really know.

2.Nala should have been more in the movie

3. I don't hate Timon and Pumbaa, they were to much in the movie

And you others have really good ideas so I agree with all of you^^

Playing devil's advocate, but MAYBE Simba was a grouch because he was still traumatized by what happened to him earlier and he did NOT want that to happen to Kiara. Repressed memories are a pain like that. They manifest themselves in various ways.

I would definitely focus more on the Pridelander and Outsider conflict itself, rather than Kovu and Kiara specifically. I think it would be more interesting to give the other characters more important roles, like Nuka, Vitani, Kopa, Nala and Sarabi. It would be a much better story if Nuka was the one who betrayed Zira, instead of Kovu.

That would be very interesting! Black Lion Down!

But in all do fairness, Nuka will never betray Zira. Being effectively her unwanted son, he will do anything to get her attention - her positive attention. As an example, in the final battle, when Vitani finally realizes just how much off her rocker Zira is, she is the first Outlander to simply switch sides without any 'corruption'. After Vitani, the rest of the Pridelanders also stop the fight, leaving Zira all alone.

In this case, I am certain that Nuka would not have betrayed her, and for that matter, would have been the only Outlander to go down fighting for Zira - all just to get a bit of attention from her as a mother and not a commander who uses him as a tool for their ambitions.

^ Assuming all the characters are one-dimensional like they are in SP, then yes.

haha me directing a tlk film that's rich

1. Color schemes are as they were in the first film.
2. Kovu not being Scar's actual son made clearer [i know it was stated but maybe Simba could be like 'He's lucky he isn't actually Scar's own' idk]
3. Maybe a flashback concerning Zira's story/how she arrived in the Pridelands
4. Um make Kovu more of a cold blooded killer. He was raised to kill Simba, he shouldn't have gone from that evil to good what, 12 hours?
5. Sarafina
6. No Sarabi. I wouldn't want to replace her actor, either. RIP mam who's name i can't actually remember
7. Also no scar for Kovu. Like Sasha said, it was really cliche and stupid.
8. NOT SO MANY 'i'm falling off a cliff!' SCENES [I mean, Mufasa and Simba in the first film, then Zira and Kiara in the second. Overplayed, much?]
9. Zira's suicide is in
10. Nuka's original death scene is in

ugh that's about all i can come up with really idk man

As far as additions, I think I would choose to reveal the full extent of the relationship between Zira's group of lionesses and young and Simba's pride. What exactly they did to get exiled from the Pride Lands and fuel so many bad feelings from Simba and the rest of his pride (I feel just siding with Scar would not be enough to evoke Simba's reaction to them, that they must have done something more).

If the full history of Zira's group was expanded upon, I think the romantic plot could be fully justified (if the history was strong enough). It was clearly a Romeo and Juliet theme, and given enough back story to account for the amount of tension and ill feelings between the two prides it would have fit in very well.

I do wish Simba had a bit more depth and focus in this film. It started off on the foot of him filling Mufasa's paw prints ("He Lives in You"), which is okay, but I would have liked to see him not being compared to Mufasa but blossoming as his own king.

And finally, as much as I love Timon and Pumbaa, they fell exceedingly flat in this movie. Even their humor wasn't as flourished as the first film. It was as if they were tacked on the finished product just to avoid dropping them from the script entirely, so I would definitely try to weave them into the actual plot so they could blend in better and maybe bring some actual humor to the full theme.

The animation was up to par with the original film, which I was quite happy with. The songs were catchy and well written ("My Lullaby" is a favorite even with friends who hate this movie.) I think this could have been a much better film if the plot had simply been expanded on.
