Nuru nodded and slowly came over while her mother laid down next to the two fawns.

Ophelia sighed and corrected him, "All we can do is wait until he decides to kill us." she began coughing heavily, her mouth filling with the taste of blood.

Nello looked at Nuru and said, "How are you feeling?"

Her grandfather said, "You keep believing that for that will help fool him."

Nuru sighed. "Weird..." she looked at him, "I don't know... Something just doesn't feel right."

Ophelia's father suddenly noticed something, "Where's your fawn?"
His daughter looked at him, "My friend is keeping an eye on him... She said it will give us the opportunity to spend some time together like before he was born... That turned out well..."

Nello said, "Well just take it easy alright? I'm here for you." He then sighed and said, "We should tell your parents..." He looked at them and said, "We should all stay here tonight. It is not safe to travel alone these days."

Her grandfather said, "It is not your fault."

Nuru's mother didn't say anything.

Ophelia's body was still shaking from the pain caused by all of her wounds and by the blood lost. "Is it not? Had I treated him better all those years ago, none of this would have ever happened." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, only to open them again after a few moments. "He's gather deer in the meadow, many of them." she looked at her grandfather, "If you really do have an idea, now's the time."

Nello looked at Nuru's parents and said, "Look can we talk alone for a second?" He looked at his mate, "I'll be right back Nuru."

Her grandfather said, "I do have a plan but let me tell you something first. I wasn't lying when I siad I know how you feel. When I was a fawn I lost my mother and father and my grandparents raised me. However I listened to Karus' son and told my grandparents to go ahead and die already. I exiled myself after my crimes but when I returned my grandfather was already dead and my grandmother was near death. I only had a few moments to tell her goodbye. I have never forgiven myself for my stupid mistake." He looked at his son, "When you were born my love for you made me recover some of my happiness which I lost from my family' death." He then said, "We need to go to your fawn."

Nuru nodded, hoping that things would turn bad.

Ophelia sighed, "I would never forgive myself if I don't see him again..." looking at her mate, she softly whispered "Wait for me, I won't take long..." She kissed his cheek and then stood up with some difficulty, and when her father came over to help she shook her head, silently telling him she didn't need it. "It's this way." she said simply, walking in the direction her father and grandfather came from. Her breathing became heavy as they passed around all the bodies of humans and dogs. She began feeling dizzy and felt as if she could pass out at any moment, and she knew more than well that she might not wake up if she did. She closed her eyes, shook her head and walked forward, managing to stay focused.

When Ophelia and the other arrived at her friend's thicket nobody was there. Ophelia brought a hoof to her forehead and sighed worriedly, "She did say she might show him the meadow." Now was definitely not the time to be going there.

Nello sighed, "You'll find out from everyone else I'm sure...I cheated on your daughter."

HER GRANDFATHER SAID, "COME ON NO TIME FOR TALK."
