How did Pride Rock get there?
I doubt it was based off that, but I'm really not going into debate.

I still support the divine intervention theory x3
My research comes from here (#2): http://d23.disney.go.com/news/2011/09/t ... lion-king/

Like I said, there isn't any one location that is THE Priderock, but it was still based off real world geography.

:3 If that is what you say x3

Anywho, I think Pride Rock was split into two after being dropped by a glacier with lightening during some sort of weather phenomena. And with a little spiritual guidance, they *boom* got the landmark that is pride rock.

It was a boulder until Chuck Norris touched it, and thus Pride Rock was born.

I did actually write a fanific about this... About 2 weeks ago or so... It went into detail about how it became home to Mufasa, Taka, Sarabi and the pride of lions / lionesses, it was actually one of my favourite pieces I wrote. Unfortunately I wrote it on MLK, went to submit it and had been logged out so it disappeared but it is an interesting story element to write about.

Can you rewrite the story, then, or will this short explanation be all we will ever get on it?

It seems pretty likely that Pride Rock was based on a kopje (a granite formation formed inside a softer rock that gradually erodes away, leaving only the granite in the middle of an otherwise flat landscape). Kopjes are pretty common in east Africa and are often used by big cats, who spot prey from atop them. Here's a couple pictures of some pretty dramatic ones.

Not any time soon. That was when I actually had time to write stuff, it is not out of the question that I may write some stuff during college breaks but until then I doubt I will get the spare time again.

the question you may ask yourself is: How did all big rock's get to the places they are now. the answer is ''the ice age''. the expanding ice caps carried the rocks with them. It was just a matter of coincidence that they formed the shape they did.

I never though of this one, now that you mentioned, one theory that for me sound logical (but still impossible that they do an rock like that) is the massive rock getting at the top of another, or it could be an very strong earthquake thousands of years ago
