[Request] TLK 3: Mohatu's Journey

Jioni glanced at Kujaa, then back at Jiirani. He padded over to the rest of the Pride, panic flaring as he saw some lionesses struggle to stand. "What can we do?" He murmured softly. He turned to look over at the distant Oasis, wishing it wasn't so far. Jioni sighed and began to help, lending his little strength to the weaker lionesses. He was still younger, but they had lost nearly all their power--especially those with cubs.

Uru stepped back from the wildebeast, her hunger satisfied. She watched as her pridesisters finished the kill, ripping the meat apart. She sat down, her thoughts of Mohatu rushing back. She looked at the sky, hoping her son was safe. Uru glanced back at the feast, where the majority of the lionesses had finished. Uru flicked her tail and began to head back, her mind once again with Mohatu.

Asani walked to the wildebeest and grabbed a small portion. Leaving the rest for the Pride sisters and brothers. He noticed Uru sitting alone, "You know he will come back." Trying to cheer her up, he smiled at laid close beside her. "I miss him too, but we can't keep thinking the worse. He will come back." He tried to fill her mind with the good things, not the bad things.

Uru glanced up at Asani. "I know." She replied softly, her voice rather unemotional. Her tail curled tight around her and her ears were lowered. She pressed against her mate and sighed, letting his scent soothe her mind.

Jiirani quickly went to the aid of the other lionesses, she had little or no strength at all but she would not leave anyone behind, it wasn't fair. As she helped one old lioness to rise, she turned to Issa and Relena. "Trust me cubs, we will get there, it just might take a while." She called in a broken voice as the lioness she was helping leaned on here. Mohatu glanced back at the pride and then the Oasis he had come from. He turned back to them and replied "Should I take the other cubs there first and then come back, or is that not safe?" He asked them all, glancing at the cubs around him.

[It's ok. ^^ I doesn't matter much since I've been pretty busy. x3]

Jioni gently pushed a sickly lioness to her paws. The female gave him a grateful glance and began to pad shakily towards their hopeful destination. Jioni looked around at Mohatu's question, leaving it to Jiirani to answer. He bent to pick up a cub, then began to help its mother. His teeth were careful around the tiny thing's neck, keeping it above the ground. Though exhausted, he padded strongly alongside the mother.

She was using almost all of her strength and barely heard him. "Well... Go ahead, take them there. It will be safer, just please keep an eye on us to guide us if we get lost..." She said, knowing leaving the cubs unguarded was dangerous, but hopefully they would have a much better chance of survival if they arrived and the Pride couldn't make it. Mohatu nodded and began to move swiftly toward the Oasis, but not too fast that the cubs couldn't keep up, as they were weak themselves.

Kujaa paced to Mohatu as her mother woke up. "We got our approval, let´s go." she said weakly.

OOC: sorry it´s so short. Couldn´t say much really.

He nodded, leading the others to the oasis. They moved slowly, he could tell they were in a terrible state, and he didn't want to push them to their limits or even the cubs may not make it. Slowly the left the lioness's behind and entered the trees, Mohatu could smell the water and eventually the grass became greener and the leafy oasis cast shade over the cubs, shielding them from the sunlight. It was cooler, but quite tepid as the closed in space heated up under the hash sunrays.

Jiirani watched the cubs as they vanished, heaving the other lioness along with her as they tried to move. She turned to Jioni, who was doing the same. "Jioni... I'll try to help the pride reach the Oasis, but when we get there... I don't know if I'll make it in the end..."

Jioni's tail thrashed. "Of course you will." He answered quietly. He turned back to a young lioness, urging her to stand. He feared for himself as well, but wouldn't let that get in the way of helping the others. He began to walk with the lioness, glancing back at Jiirani.

[Late reply is really late. Sorry again Zoketi Dx]

Jiirani pushed onward, supporting the other lioness as they followed in Mohatu's footsteps. She felt terrible, but what made her any different from the rest of the pride? She nodded softly at Jioni's words. After all, she couldn't leave her cubs motherless. That would be terrible. So, they continued to the trees, the oasis could be smelt by their sensitive noses easily, and soon enough they had arrived, Mohatu watching out for them the whole time. The oasis was big enough for them, and practically a paradise. Almost immediatly the Pride headed for the small river to drink.
