Ash's eyes went wide. "A baby now? With all this danger." She thought to herself. "Sonic? Do you have any idea how to birth a baby?" Ash asked walking up towards Sonic and Sally.

Sonic was getting nervous. "No. With the last baby born into the family, I was kept outside the room," he said, remembering when Amy was born. He called for the doctors. They took Sally to the medical wing. Sonic anxiously waited outside.

"You don't want to go watch your baby be born Sonic?" Ash asked walking up next to Sonic. Akila ran after her mother and played with her tail, Ash wagged her tail to shoo Akila off of it.

Sonic sighed. "It's more about tradition. Usually, the father sits outside while the other women and doctors help the mother. After the baby is born, the father is called in," he said.

"Oh." Ash paused for a second, "Kinda dumb." She thought. "Some traditions you have eh." She said before turning around and bending down to Akila's height, "Why don't you go to bed, little puppy's need their rest." Ash licked her pup and nudged her towards Sakima with her muzzle. "Mom." Akila whined before yawning and walking over to her father.

Sonic waited. Finally, Aleena came out of the room. "Sonic, you have a healthy new son," she said proudly. Sonic ran in. The infant was a boy that was a squirrmunk like Sally. It had red hair and blue eyes. Sally smiled at her husband. "Sonic, meet your new son...Simba," she said.

Ash smiled and walked back to her pack not even entering the room. She yawned and lied down next to Sakima, they nuzzled and fell asleep next to each other.

Sonic was overjoyed. As Sally rested with Simba, he went to Ash. "Ash, everything's great. The presentation ceremony is tomorrow morning," he said.

Ash looked up at Sonic sleepily, "That's amazing. Can't wait to see I'll be sure to be there. Now if you excuse me I'm tired." Ash said smiling and then lying her head on Sakima's paws and falling asleep.

Sonic went to bed as well. Early the next morning, Sonic and his family all went out for the ceremony. Hana stepped forward to summon all of Knothole to the palace. She cleared her throat, and the ancient summoning call that had long brought the royal family's subjects went out in a loud voice: "Nants ingonyama bagithi baba..."
