Songo there are plenty of adults that do those types of things. And the youngest kids on here are 13 that's a teenager by some standards.

I think that's exactly what the adult forum shouldn't be, is a place for people to have the same discussions we could have in the den or in public, just without certain members being able to participate. That's just flat out discrimination.


^^ Why do so many people interpret discussion as argument? We're discussing an important issue; not everything is black and white, 90% majority 10% minority. If we can't discuss and argue and refine our thoughts on issues, how can we ever decide anything? I don't think the solution here is shoving the decision into someone else's hands, and besides, don't lots of members have a major beef with staff doing -anything- independent of member input?

I vote 'YES'. If Moka does do it, he will find a way to make it work. Hes good at that. As for 13 being a teenager...i guess to some people.

For example, in my opinion, posting a topic that could just be put in the den (IE as you said, work, career, etc) in the adult forum for the sole purpose of not having some of the younger members taking part in discussion is absolutely discrimination, yes.

The adult board could just let younger people who are not mature enough for "The List" see the posts but not comment on them

It's not really. I really wanted to see American Werewolf in London when I was young, but I wasn't allowed to, because I wasn't old enough to view it by law. Also, you wouldn't be allowed in a night club, even if you were just going to sit and listen to the music. Some books are even too old for kids. We just simply want to be careful, if this board was to break the law, what do you think may happen? Probably not much, since we're a small place, but what if it did?

So If I put a Topic Like, 'My best friend went into drug rehab'. I went into grave detail about the problem she was facing and i explained the drugs and such. Possibly I wanted a few of my good friends on here to know why ive been so distant lately. Get out my feelings about it...That would be discrimination? Because I wouldnt want a 13 year old reading about someone addicted to heroin?

Your right. Discrimination. I'm not saying they don't have a right...I guess...13 year olds should be able to smoke too? Why not let them try it?


All I was saying is that it PREVENT Someone who MIGHT not like the topic, from complaining about it or getting someone ELSE in trouble.

Songo, that's completely different from a career or work. I thought we were arguing if tame issues like work and career could be discussed in the adult forum for adults only, despite it being fine for kids to weigh in on too. And you keep saying 13 year olds, I feel compelled to ask you to change that to 17 year olds because that's the highest common denominator we're catering to if we adopt the 18+ system, if you will. =P

Ok I get your point Songo. But FYI we learn about drug abuse in school and they even lend us books on drug abuse and more mature topics.

I wish Moka would hurry up and say if we're having it or not! I know he's busy, but a yes or a no would be nice haha! It seems we're just going over and over the same problems and questions and we don't even know what it's going to be like!
