Good lord, I haven't herd of that book for longer than I can remember =0 It was one of the first books I ever read! I must have been five or eight or something when I read it! It was terrific, but I lot it years ago :S I only read it the one time but it's really burned into my memory. It was sad too...

I had to do a novel study on it last semester. it's okay, I mostly like Santiago's take on the sealife. the movie's lame though, but then it's pretty old. they should make an updated movie, so long as they didn't kill the feel of the book.
personally I'm intrigued by the symbols used in it. I mean, I'd love to know why Hemmingway choose to use a few certain ones.
