I love TLK2. I don't see any reason why I shouldn't.

I just really hate how they butchered Simba's character in it.. >.>
That's whut ultimately made me turn it off.
But also the colours look dull and washed out, and the whole thing just has a.. wrong feeling to it. :/
And, being based on Romeo and Juliet, the film has a love theme behind it which really doesn't appease me to watch it all either..
Ah fair enough :) I just always wandered why people who dislike it, dislike it in the first place that's all.

(And ofc, there's no Cubbeh Simba in it either. :nehneh:)
Well then, that just about explains everything! :P

well....it has its ups and downs.

I like the new character designs, they have different and unique qualities. Zira's a rather entertaining villian, and she has her motives. of course, we get to see our favorite characters again too, and get another taste of the TLK universe. the landscapes are excellent, and I enjoy all the sunsets and sunrises present. there's a lovely theme about not judging others by where they come from and seeing them as just like you instead.

BUT, it comes off to me as a rather rushed job. the plot was poorly thought out, and creates tons of holes that aren't explained EVER. we have a spoiled princess falling for the rebel without a cause bad boy that daddy doesn't like, very cliche and pretty lame. Simba and Nala's personality's really don't add up to the original (and I preferred them better before), especially since their first appearance would be set only months are the last time we see them in action (excluding the ending and opening scenes, since we only look at them standing there). the colors are soooo off. whereas the first movie had crisp, bright colors this one goes for more dull and soft colors. Simba especially looks funky that way, I think. and in places they just weren't consistent enough with cub Kiara's face. plus, all the Pridelanders are so chunky! I could understand if it was just some of them, but even Nala who had one of the lightest Pridelander body styles in the first movie, is quite thick and rounded like. mainly the plot along with the inconsistency of cub Kiara's face, always makes me feel like they rushed this movie more for the money, whereas the first movie was made for for entertainment than cash.

I don't hate TLK2, but I think it pales in comparison to the original. it's a good movie, but not a great one.

Exactly. It really is not a bad film, just the animation and different "feel" of the film let it down a bit...

What plot holes? I thought everything was explained pretty well. The only plot holes here are imaginary ones caused by our natural way of over thinking, analysing and theorising. I mean I did not really see any when I watched it...

I mean,

- Who is Kovu's father?
- What happened to Kopa?
- Why is Simba so overprotective while Nala's layed back?
- Where was Zira in TLK?
ect.

The only one of those that are a plot hole is the first one about Kovu's father...

Zira was not needed in TLK, and not in it for that reason. Kopa... does not exist in the film universal plot at all. See they are mostly fairly easily answered :) and yet people say that it is a flaw of the film.
