Her transition from "Yay, I'm reunited with my missing half" to "We've got to go back and reunite these two prides that have been divided for years" comes so suddenly that it really stretches her credibility as a character.
Simba acts completely different in SP than he does in TLK. Most of the time his OOC behavior just seems to be there to make Kiara look good.

I've watched SP for the first time when I was 10/11 years old and I don't really like it since then.

I don't hate Kiara, but I don't particularly like her either. I agree with what you AND Akril say--you both have valid points. I like Kiara because she's pretty and happy-go-lucky, which is a nice change from typical angsty characters *coughKovucough*. I don't like her because she is definitely some degree of a Mary Sue, and she's...not extremely all that intelligent. *shrug*

However, I think you could pretty much think what you want about Kiara, since the writers weren't all that good and probably didn't get everything they wanted into a 1.5 hour long animated movie.

Well, sure. Admittedly, the movie wasn't all that great--it was a mediocre sequel to an animated Disney movie to make a few extra bucks. It was directed at children audiences. The only people who would really remain fans are the loyal TLK fans, like us. So even though it wasn't really very good, we all still enjoyed it because it had something to do with The Lion King.

That`s exactly how I feel. The reason I bought it is explained when you see my avatar. Also when I found out Nala was in the third one I bought it straight away. Seeing them together is good enough for me, but I enjoy it infinitely more when it`s a good story.

Same thing goes for fanfictions. Many Simba/Nala stories are quite naive, which I don`t really mind. But I`ll enjoy a story much more when it`s great writing, it feels much more passionate then.

I see a lot of valid and well thought out points here, but I must say that defining the SP story as lazy is a bit of a weak position. The overall structure is good and though we see a change in character reactions, these can easily be explained by the alteration of their positions.
Simba is now a father, and by definition, protective. Kiara is the typical teeanage girl looking to get out on her own and she meets a guy, so be it. This does not indicate a failure to translate TLK original ideas, it is merely an alteration necessary to explain the interaction of the characters...

...some people dislike Kiara? I`ve seen some people (in different areas of the Internet, different sites, etc) state negative things about Kiara, saying they hate her, she`s stupid, a flat character, etc.

I know I might be sticking my hand into a nest of wasps here, but I`m really just curious, I would just like to know why Kiara seems to be so strongly disliked by SP fans? For example, why is she perceived as stupid?

Being such a big fan of her myself, I don`t get it... So I`m asking you instead.

I don't hate Kiara. I don't have anything against her. She just isn't my most favorite character. She's my...third.
