I think SP totally killed Simba. In TLK, he seemed like a way better king, being able to restore the Pride Lands and such. But thanks to Kiara, we get that stupid overprotective selfish king we see in SP.

I always wondered why Simba was so prejudice against Kovu, it really bothered me that he learned so little in his time in exile....He succeeds in rebuilding the Pridelands then falls to persecuting the only other male lion around....

@Rogue: *sigh* Not this again. Simba is prejudice against Kovu because of what Zira said: "He was hand chosen by Scar to follow in his paw prints and become king." That pretty much set the expectation. Scar had done a lot of things to bring about this response from Simba. would you like the list in alphabetical or chronological order?

Come on Simba66, is there any particular reason that Simba should act this way, or are we gonna start letting everyone who feels anger toward someone else pass along the resentment from one dead foe, to another living one? This is not meant to offend you, but this really bothers me. Simba comes off as a great guy and a good King, but this really isn't the Simba we see in the original TLK

Simba is like WOW! Such a strong character in my life that made understand that all of are one; WE ARE ONE. he also made me understand that you can't run away from the a bad past, that you have to be strong and give your best to change the future.

You're right. He's not. He's more protective of Kiara and he does have good reason. As I've said many times, Zira kinda sealed Simba's opinion of Kovu from the start. Being Scars heir, even as a cub, Simba has a good reason to not like Kovu.

Chronological huh? Okie dokie artichokie:
1. Scar tricks Simba into going to an elephant graveyard in an attempt to kill him.
2. Decides to just kill Simba and Mufasa in one go.
3. Tells Simba to leave the Pride Lands forever.
4. Abuses the Pride Landers and decimates their land for god knows how long.
5. When Simba returns, he tries to turn Simba's own pride against him.
6. Tries to blame the whole thing on the hyenas to save his own butt.
7. Finally attempts to kill Simba and almost succeeds.

Wrap all this together in a newly born cub who was Scar's heir, and you can understand why Simba does what he does. This is also in no way meant to offend you. He was a bit too hasty with his decisions, I'll admit that much. But the Simba we see in SP is different because it changed in context to Kovu's appearance.
