Sarabi stared at them for a few moments, Nala nodding to confirm Simba's words. "Oh..." she finally said. "Because, I guess...with everything that's happened, I don't think traditions are going to matter. Look, it's great that you two are happy together, but don't let this affect you...but then, Simba, once you're king you can technically do whatever you like, so the betrothal thing seems kind of pointless, looking back," she said with a smile. "Just thought you should know, that's all...I hate keeping secrets, especially from my own son."

She gave Simba a quick nuzzle and lick, before looking around. "I'm assuming Tanga's off on his run...how is he today?"

Simba looked at the direction Tanga had taken off to for his run as he answered his mother, "He seems to be fine today. I guess we could start our training very soon."

He then looked at Nala, who hasn't said anything sicne Sarabi mentioned their betrothal. Even thugh traditions did no longer matter, he hoped that Nala wouldn't let that affect what is happening between the two of them now. [b]"Nala, are you alright?" he asked, ignoring the fact that his mother could hear what he was saying?

Nala looked up at Simba, smiling as she buried her head just a little deeper in his mane. She guessed that he was worried about how Sarabi's mentioning of the betrothal would affect her, but she did not really care. She had thought on it once or twice, but had assumed that their extreme circumstances would mean the intended bonding between them was not going to be enforced.

"I'm fine...still waking up, I guess," she said as she yawned, emphasising her point. Whatever happened between the two of them, betrothal or not...Nala would accept it as best she could. She just wanted to let their relationship run its natural course, whether or note that meant they ended up as mates later on in life.

----------

Sarabi nodded at Simba, before wandering off towards the trees where Tanga's family slept. "I'll go see if the others are up yet...see if Kali's ready to start our training today."

Simba smiled at his mother as she took off towards Kali and Busara's den. "Okay mom, see you later." he said, remembering how Nala said she was tired, "Do you want to go back inside for a while?"

Nala smiled. "Why not?" she said simply. "You're enjoy up too early for me to enjoy those peaceful moments in your mane when I wake up." She then gave him a playful shove. "You need to learn how to sleep in, mister!"

----------

Sarabi soon reached the den in the trees, and finding all three of them asleep, or awake and not showing it, she decided to sit down nearby, bathing herself lightly as she waited for wither Kali or Busara to wake up...maybe a morning conversation with little Uhuru might be fun as well.

Simba grinned at Nala, "I'm sure you'd make an excellent teacher." he said, laughing slightly as he followed her back into the tunnel which held their nook.

------------

Uhuru was awake, curled up in her father's mane, like she usually was untill one of her parents woke up. She always wanted to take off before they did, but didn't want to worry them. Her ears perked slightly when she heard Sarabi sit herself down in their den. She decided that maybe talking to the older lioness could help the time pass untill one of her parents woke up. She opened her eyes and raised her head from Busara's mane so she could look at Sarabi. "Good morning Sarabi." she said, though remained curled up in Busara's mane despite the urge to get up

Nala lead Simba back into their little nook, before flopping down on the rock, patting the space beside. "Alright, now get over here so can be the fuzzy pillow you're supposed to be," she said, her tone teasing and playful, completely carefree as she relaxed, waiting for Simba to lie down beside her.

----------

Sarabi looked up as Uhuru called to her. "Oh, hello Uhuru, I didn't realise you were awake." She then smiled, looking at how the caramel cub was happy curled up in her father's mane. "Comfortable, are we?" she asked, even if she already knew the answer. "Tell me, whose mane is more comfy...your dad's, or your brother's?" she queried casually, remembering the night under the stars where Tanga had carried the sleeping, exhausted Uhuru back after their first run, and let her sleep in his mane that night.

Simba grinned at Nala's words, before laying himself down beside her, cuddling close to her and laying his head by hers so that che could use his mane as a pillow. Perhaps Nala was right and they should spend more moments like that together.

-----

Uhuru nodded happily in respond to Sarabi's first question. She always found her father's mane as a comfortable place to sleep at. "I don't know... They're both comfy for me." she said, even if she mostly slept in her father's mane because she had more room comparing to when she slept on her brother a week ago.

Nala decided to go for complete comfort this time around, and rather than simply cuddling her head in Simba's mane, rolled onto her side, shuffling over so her back was pressed into Simba's belly, purring loudly as she snuggled her head into the crook of Simba's neck, using his mane as a pillow like always. "Simba..." she said softly. "Why do you always wake up so early? I mean, I know I used to and all, but you never stopped...I'm just curious."

----------

Sarabi smiled as Uhuru answered. "They are very comfortable to rest in, aren't they?" she said, once again lamenting Mufasa's death.

----------

At this point Kali woke up to the vices of both Sarabi and Uhuru, blinking here eyes open, she gave a soft yawn, letting everyone know she was awake. "Morning you two," he said casually.

Simba was slightly surprised by how close Nala came this time, but it only caused him to purr loudly as she settled her head in his mane, "I don't know..." he said, sounding as curious as she did for some reason, "I guess I'm just used to it."

-------

Uhuru again nodded to what Sarabi said, but the lioness seemed distant for some reason, and Uhuru wanted to ask her what was te matter when her mother woke up, "Hi mom." she said, deciding that she could ask Sarabi about this later, and hopefully not offend her or anything while doing so.
