Species: Panthera Leos (Lion)

Appearance: She stands at roughly 3 and a half feet at the shoulder, weighing around 240 pounds. Her well groomed pelt is a rich sunrise gold, fine in appearance despite being slightly lackluster from being a bit underweight. Around the lioness’s eyes is a paler tawny, though her tail tuft is a startling onyx. Rippling muscle is clear underneath her pelt with each step, despite the long crimson scar across her right shoulder. Amkia’s eyes are ever shifting hues of blue, seeming to lighten and darken with the rise and fall of the sun. She usually walks with her dark claws partially unsheathed, dark pads hardened from long travel.

Personality: Amkia is rather devious and sarcastic at times, but is not afraid to show emotion in almost any situation. However, if she has a goal, she will cultivate said situations until it rings true in her ears. Being a rogue has gotten her into a fair share of fights, but also unleashed the demon cat inside of her in battle. Her usually calm demeanor abruptly changes when violence is needed, pent up anger unbridled and unleashed. Betrayal and misuse in the past has made her wary of many, causing much internal festering. Wanting a place of her own to call home, and someone that would not simply bound off into the sunset when through with her.

History: She was born into a rather large pride, of such number that upon reaching adolescence many of the younger ones had to set out to join another’s pride or wander as a rogue. Her cubhood days were secure, and full of learning and peace. The king ruled without challenge, and quite contently on a large area of land. However, as Amkia matured, it was clear she was a cut different from the rest of the female cubs in the pride.

She was almost like an adolescent at only three moons old, taking her lessons with the lionesses far more seriously than the rest of the chattering gaggle. Displaying a sharp wit and equally sharp claws in sparring, though, making her an excellent prospect for a huntress and scout for another pride when she grew. It was clear she was intelligent as well, always asking questions and not stopping until she got a satisfactory answer. The curiosity waned as she grew, maturing into nothing less than an elegant golden lioness.

After her first hunt, and considered adept enough to make her leave, she gladly did in prospect of adventure. Although some of her later hunts failed miserably, she learned quickly what tactics worked for which animals. Amkia earned the scar on her shoulder, though, when she had just turned two years old. By the time she had become an adept huntress and combatant, but was still not quite strong enough to fend off aggressive males that she had invaded their territory for hunting.

Blood spattered the night — Both hers and theirs.

The end result of the encounter, though, left her once optimistic attitude in tatters. The true maturity of the golden lioness arose with the sun the following morning, scarlet caking the unforgiving ground. For the next six months, her training redoubled. Seething, disgusted with herself for being overpowered so easily. The lack of food in her current area had made her hardy, even if a little scrawny at times. Nonetheless, an undesirable opponent — Especially if another wished to lay claims without her consent.

Skills: Hunting is ended swiftly for her once she gets a good grip, as are battles — Her skill in combat rivaling that of a male, and sometimes surpassing. Strength gained through training has made her adept at not only scaling trees, but also rockface and swimming.

Lovely character as always, Kina. Amkia seems like a highly intriguing character, especially in regards to her appearance and personality. I loved the way you described her appearance, seriously. A welcome deviation from 'oh this lion's just tan-furred with a black mane lolz,' you know? Anyway, great job once again, and I can't wait to read whatever she's in, story or RP.
