Can't let go
Several months past, the warm spring air was beginning to cool down for the autumn and winter months. In the outlands however, it made little difference. The torched land was constantly hot with the glaring sun and no shade, while the winds scattered round dust and warm air. Slowly the outlanders were starting to become used to their new environment, but with lack of food and water most were beginning to grow thin and tired. There were two however that had kept their strong form. Kivuli and Kokota. Both of them had grown up quite a bit within the past few months. Kokota had gotten taller with more of his mane showing and muscles bulking up. Kivuli was very much the same, taller and stronger, he was almost beginning his early adulthood.
It was late afternoon, most of the Outlanders were training, under Ziras orders. She had plotted revenge against Simba, and was preparing for a war. She pushed everyone to their limits and further. Kivuli and Kokota didn't train with Zira however, as Kivuli was not to be pushed around by one of his rivals. Instead he did his own training away from the rest so not to be disturbed. When Kivuli wasn't training, he was up the highest point outside the den. From there he could see most of the land and surrounding area. More importantly though he could see the Pridelands and Priderock. Kivuli could stare for hours, plotting his own revenge and hopefully a plan to get rid of Zira at the same time
The gray beast was disturbed when a roar was heard from below. He turned to look, and found Kokota waiting for him. With skill and grace, Kivuli slid and clambered down the den to reach his kin. 'Hey Kivuli you ok?' asked Kokota, whose voice was beginning to break. Kivuli strolled over to his brother and smiled lightly 'I am fine brother. You look like you need to talk with me'. Kokota nodded and lead the way as the brothers walked side by side 'I think Zira suspects something. She can't work out how we stay in such strong physical form. I don't think she knows about us sneaking into the Pridelands for food at night, only the fact that we train'. Kivuli chuckled under his breath; his plan for Zira was working, keep her distracted and confused so he could work unhindered
It wasn't long before the brothers came across the main training ground. It was a flat open space, with rocks scattered round, and small waterholes surrounding it. Both lions walked up a small hill, over watching the training. As they reached the top they both lay down to observe what was going on 'Look at them Kokota, they got forced into a way of life by a crazy demented widow. It will be the end of them one way or another. You and me however, we have made our own life here we follow no one and do as we please'. Kokota grinned as he stared at the scene below him 'Thanks brother I owe you for this'. Kivuli didn't respond, he just continued to watch the brutality below
The sound of clashing fangs and claws was disturbed by the idiotic yelp of Nuka, running with Vitani and his side 'Mother, MOTHER!!! We have news you got to hear'. Zira turned on the spot to watch her son advance. She was watching the fighting below, making sure that everyone was following her orders. Kovu was sitting next to her. Vitani and Kovu had also grown abit since the exile. They were old enough to roam round on their own, not that Zira was letting Kovu out her sight. She had plans for him to help take Simba out. Zira turned to her son and sighed 'What is it now Nuka?'. The hyperactive lion bounced in front of Zira and Vitani followed calmly 'It happened mother, it happened. We saw it, with our own eyes! Simba...' Nuka was cut out by Vitani who finished the story in a calm manner 'Simba and Nala have had a cub, a baby girl'. Nuka promptly shut up, while Zira's eyes lit up
'A girl.... A Girl!' Zira screamed with joy causing everyone in the area to stop and listen. The same was true for Kivuli and Kokota, who slowly and carefully made their way closer to listen in. Zira continued with her little 'victory' 'Oh this is perfect, Simba has male heir, there has never been a queen ruling the Pridelands. We will either bide our time or just destroy Simba by force! This couldn't be more perfect!'. As Kivuli overheard the rant, he hatched a small plan. He got up and begin to walk away slowly 'Come on Kokota, we are going back to the Pridelands'. Kokota looked shocked at what he just heard 'Kivuli are you mad we would get killed, besides I thought you hated Simba?'. Kivuli Looked at his brother with his burning red eyes 'You don't have to come, but I will. As for Simba, yes it is HIM I hate not the pride. If Zira is threatening them, I still want to make sure they are ok'. Kokota looked even more confused than before, yet he knew from experience that question Kivuli's plans was not a good idea. Not cause he got mad, but cause he was generally right. So Kokota just nodded, and with that Kivuli dashed off in a trail of dust heading to the Pridelands
