^Mine is still within the warranty, so the repair was free and, well, "obligatory" from the store's part. Hopefully, everything will turn out okay. :/ But, regardless of this, I agree with you. Usually, it's better to buy a new one.

I'm so relieved her mom found out. As long as I'm not the only one trying to keep an eye on her, so now she cant do it anymore. But, she didn't do what we agreed, so if she had, her mom wouldn't of found out, but I think its better that was. Its a weight off my shoulders, and I hope things turn around for her, for me, unfortunately its just gotten worse. And it doesn't help with those dreams I've been having, its horrible I actually dream about that. There's still a lot on my mind, but maybe that can finaly be put to rest.

Seriously?! That's an insanely long time, simply to hear "It's irreparable"! Sorry that it ended up like that... :/

In most cases, you're better off buying a new computer than repairing an existing one, unless you can do it yourself.

Repair places tend to have shady business practices; it's best to avoid them wherever possible.

TBH they should just go back to making electronics that weren't so finicky and fragile that they'd get broken by looking at them the wrong way.

I'll admit it's not that bad with my laptop but those weird new tablets/pads/whatever the **** they are look so delicate. And smart phones, too. You can't even take the damn battery out anymore! What the hell? How are you supposed to replace them?

Plus if your touch screen gets messed up there's no way to slide it out and still be able to use your phone with a non-touch screen. Pretty useless if I'm honest. But thank God I get to have voice activated thingamajigs and NFL Mobile and tons of other random padded out features that nobody actually uses and you can't get rid of. I'd be pretty damn lost if it weren't for that.

New smartphones, apparently. Honestly it's pretty ridiculous, every phone I had all the way up until my last few months of high school let you take the battery out.

To be completely honest, the only thing I use on my smartphone that I didn't use on my old phone is the internet, and that's only because I never had data before. If they made a phone like the type I had two years ago (basically it just called and texted and had very few other features, and didn't have a touch screen - though it did have a pull out keyboard which I appreciated), but with an easy way to use the internet... I'd honestly be fine.

Thing is, I don't even know if they make anything like that anymore...

Most new smartphones have an "incorporated battery" so it's impossible to take it out. You can't even "open" the back and stuff like the SIM card or SD cards are put on the sides. My cellphone is like that, too. It's a bit odd.

I'll just stick with my Galaxy S5, thanks... Sometimes phones locks up and won't let you do anything, not even turn it off, and you have to take the battery out and put it back in or you can't use the phone. If/when this phone breaks, I'll either be very sad or I'll deliberately find another phone that still allows the battery to come out.
