So today, since one of me and my friend's characters is supposed to have been in the military and fought in a war and all that crap, we decided to talk to my dad for a bit and get his opinion on things. Turns out we weren't really all that far off in terms of what we were doing, but still. Hearing him talk about what combat is like reminded me that it's a brutal world out there.

He had quite a few stories worth sharing, though - both other peoples' and his own, some of which I'd never actually heard before from him. Reminds me why my dad is still one of the coolest people I know.

Too bad I never get to see him anymore, hardly...
