Tonight wasn't bad at all. In fact, it was kinda good. We were staffed well enough and there was a new guy in there. No one was helping him, so I volunteered, and tbh I'm pretty surprised at myself for being so friendly/helpful. He seemed to think well of me, too, because after I went on about other tasks he kept coming back to ask me questions even though he knew of the others there I'm the one who's worked there the shortest time. Plus I got to see my evaluation and have discovered that they are liking my work so far--which is kind of sad for them since I'm half-assing it. They also gave me a 4 of 5 in being dependable as far as shifts go... which is also sad for them considering I've called out 3 days and left early once and I've only had the job for around a month. Their standards are really low and tbh I think as crappy as it is to have to keep getting up early and working long shifts, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing and make time to sit now and again. I should be getting that raise soon too, which will be nice.
Maybe the next five months won't be any tougher than this last one has been.
