If you were voting on these graphics, which would you choose?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Visually, I find the second one more appealing, since I usually prefer simpler signs. However, the first one has a quote and a few effects, which add a "special effect" to it. Although I'm usually into simple things, I'd probably end up voting for the first, not one because of the previously mentioned things, but also the size. I personally prefer signatures of such dimensions. Again, please remember that this is merely my opinion.

Serious? I don't think it's bad either. But, yeah, I know the feeling. Something similar has happened to me, on another forum. In a way, I'm not a big fan of "signature contests", since "different people have different tastes". I've noticed that many people make their choice with base on their personal taste, instead of the editor's skill. It can be a bit frustrating.

Personally in the case of that contest... I think it's just that more people over there like FFXIV (the game the second image is from) because it's new and an online game whereas the images I used are from FFIX which is 16 years old and not online. I edited it as much as I did because the low res images needed work to merge nicely, and honestly, I was pleased with it, but eh, I guess this is to be expected when the content of the work isn't a fav of the voters.
