If I posted my true personal issues back in the day, this whole board would have gone up in a cataclysmic inferno.

Who knows whether posting about your troubles back then would have helped or not. Maybe it would have, but maybe it would have made you anxious waiting for replies and having it all out there. Who knows? Can't change the past.

Well, you're likely right. I guess I just wish I'd said something to someone, at least. But you're right. It's all okay now, not a big deal in the slightest at this point.

Really? All the stuff I posted about seems kind of trivial to me now. I mean, yeah some of it was serious, and all, but like, I dunno. It seems like I was overdramatic. All of that stuff is just part of life, except for the stuff involving a certain person, and every bit of that was drama I should have been paying enough attention to to avoid.

Well, I didn't exactly read every thread you ever posted, I don't think. But it's alright. It seemed like a lot of times you were just venting on stuff that was bothering you at the time. Sometimes that sort of thing can seem melodramatic looking back... but yeah, it's an understandable reaction. I've had my fair share of moments where I was ranting over something that wasn't even that big of a deal, comparatively speaking. lol

All I'm saying, I guess, is that you really shouldn't feel bad. Stuff like that happens.

Now to study for that midterm and finally post in the RP. :ocwap: So much to do...

The entire point of the personal issues board, being that I was the one who originally suggested we have such a board, was to have a place where members could just rant and vent about personal life drama outside of the den (being that the personal issues board is in member hq and so at least can not be viewed by guests.) it doesn't have to be extremes like OCD, depression or anxiety but it can be. Or it could be as simple as you had no milk in the fridge this morning.

It is NOT a substitution for professional help. It is simply a place to openly talk about stuff. Because we keep these things bottled up for so long and that causes physical issues as well as mental issues. The idea for PI board came to me when I realised that simply talking to my friend on Skype and externalising my issues to someone was a bit of a help and takes some of the weight off.
The point is that; we don't think about this very often but we're all equal. When you're going through stuff it's very easy to think that it's you on one side of a coin and then everyone else who already has their [censored] together on the other side. But that simply isn't the truth, the truth is that everyone else has just as many things going on with them as you do. And I think the PI board serves as a testement to that point.
The reason why this is so important to realise is because it makes you feel a lot less alone and trapped by whatever your problems are and makes you realise that although you may be living your life, we are all here on Earth together as one instead of just a lot of little numbers, it's one big collective of humans and we can choose to build each other up.
One of the topics that come up fairly often in there is loneliness and social anxiety and there's no loneliness greater than that of a planetary level and when you see that other people share the same issues you do, it changes your perspective and that really is the first step in overcoming such things.
