Over-abundant use of physical descriptors, spelling mistakes that could have easily been amended with spell-check, no variation in sentence length, and (my least favourite (which I have been guilty of in the past btw)) PIERCING eyes, eh?

Approximately 80% of stories on FFn are this quality or lower, though. It's sad but it's definitely true. .__.

This is quite true. Still, I've read some good ones on FFn. It kind of depends on your favourite writing styles, IMO. I mean, these vary from reader to reader. :?

Yeah, there are some good ones. Depends on the author. Some have better story, plot, characterization, descriptions, etc. than others. And it does vary. But I'd venture to say that - especially now, on the rare occasion that I'm even on FFn and browsing through the TLK section - 90-95% of the fics simply don't catch my eye enough for me to even click on them. And even amongst those that do, many just turn out to be mediocre. It's really hard to find a good quality fic on there if you look at the most recent fics. You pretty much have to go through people's faves, or sort by reviews and such, to even have a chance of finding a collection of consistently decent-quality stuff. And even then, it isn't perfect, because there will still be mediocre or even flat-out bad fics that are popular.

Wish I was exaggerating, but that's often how I feel. :/

Of course, I don't browse all that often, anymore... maybe things have changed now.

Since I've never dared to check FFn's TLK section, I can't say much about it.
And although I have read a few good, for example, Frozen, Glee or Naruto fanfics on FFn, I definitely get your point. Some fanfics simply are awfully written, in various levels. This is why I spend more time on Archive of Our Own now. It has less stories, but most of them are nice/good.

There's a reason FFn is sometimes called "The Pit of Voles" :p I personally have moved over to ArchiveOfOurOwn for fanfic.

I had the chance to miss another day of school due to my sickness, and I pretty much gave it up.... I feel fine right now. I just took a shower and never once felt lightheaded or nauseous, so I guess that's why I did it. But it would have been nice to have another free day. Oh well. I can't be missing too many days of school, or else I'll really fall behind. I just need to wait until my next break. Then I can do whatever I want for those few days.

@Twin/Marizzle - Yep, I've come to learn that a lot of Fanfiction is utter crap. It does just make it all the nicer though when you find something awesome, though :)

------------------------

Oh man, the French translation of TLK has some incredible dialogue  For example, the whole "turning your back on me" exchange became this:

Mufasa: You forget that you're speaking to your King, Scar
Scar: Oh no, Mufasa, but beware that you are wrong to underestimate me
