why I was absent. Might be shocking.

I haven't been very active on here lately. Well this is why:

2 Weeks ago, I was staying at Thani's place. Right above him lives a guy that turns up the volume of his radio very high at night. We have been asking this dude several times to put his music down at night (it's really, really loud)
So that evening Thani and I went upstairs to ask the guy, in a gentle way, to turn down the radio volume a bit.
He opened the door, we asked him the matter.....and he slammed the door right in front of us.
So I was a bit irritated, especially because he did NOT put the volume down.
So I rang his doorbell again, and he turned off the bell-noise. I knocked on his door several times....and suddenly he came out with a knife. Me and Thani backed off, while the dude was threatening us.

Thani and I ran down to the level below, where his appartment is. We called the police and had to wait over an hour, due to the amount of snow that night.
Two officers came in and we told the story. After their visit to us, they went upstairs. Later they came back and told us that the crazy neighbour has threatened us with a fake knife, and he won't be arrested or made a case of.

Thani was totally messed up after this. He was frightened to stay in his house, because he was afraid that his neighbour would come after him for sending the police. So the next day, I took Thani with me, to my place, 45 miles south.

In my house, I have a cage with a parakeet named Tibo in it. Thani and I used to play with this bird, it was very tame and sweet, you could even huggle it with your nose. Two days after Thani and I arrived at my place after the incident with the knife, Thani and I were playing with the bird again. Suddenly Thani kinda lost his mind for a moment and smacked the bird right to the wall. It was dead immediately.

Both Thani and I were shocked after this. Not just a bit shocked, I mean, we are both animal lovers, and this was terrible. Thani picked up the dead bird from the floor. I was too shocked to cry. Ten minutes later both Thani and I cried for a long time.

At the moment, I am kinda OK again.... I still feel sad for the lost of my bird, feel kinda guilty as well. Thani is absolutely not OK. The neighbour has threatened me once again, but he left Thani be. But Thani is depressed and scared.

Well, that's why we weren't online for a while....heavy stuff, I know....But I'm kinda back.

First off, the guy should of been arrested, fake or not. That's conspiracy too commit murder, as well as atempted murder, and assult.

I'm sorry about what's been happening, but don't let it get too you guys. Sorry about the bird, I know you'll miss him.

Thani - Don't be too worried about it. If the problem continues, just call the police. Trust me, most little punks like that will be scared too death after the cops are sent after them. If the cops continue not too do their job correctly, then you can always try doing the same thing too them, except when you blast music, blast Brittney Spears. LOL

Anyways, sorry for your unfortunate situation you two, and I hope it turns out all good in the end.

That's the problem with police, they don't arrest the people until after someone's been killed. I'm really sorry about what happened, both the knife incident and the loss of your bird. What Thani did is understandable and I can relate to it... since I kind of did the same thing myself.... As long as he's truly sorry, there's no need to bug him about it or anything. He's already got a lot on his mind and I'm sure he's feeling very distressed about killing your bird.
As for your neighbor, try to avoid him as much as you possibly can, even if his music volume is too loud. It's obvious that this guy has a problem with his head and is capable of doing crazy things. I've met weirdos like these, they can get provoked easily. If the situation escalates don't hesitate to call the police. That's what they're there for. You should probably keep Thani at your place a few nights longer till he calms down.

Thanks guys, for the support and advice. It really helps me out, and I think I'm going to let Thani read this as well, he could use some support after all he's been trough.
I'm already doing much better than 2 weeks back, but Thani has to live right under that psychopath of a neighbour, so he's not really happy at the moment. But thanks for your support, you're awesome!!

I think your best bet is to avoid all contact with that person. A loud radio is a small price to pay for not getting threatened. It's not fair, but it's probably the best you'll get. Good luck working through your troubles.

Good luck sorting your problem with your neighbour. :S And I don't get it why they didn't arrest him, since he threatened you both, fake or not. Plus, in Greece it's not allowed to have the volume that high... Don't they have a law about it there too? 0.0
