Odd thing is that most constitutions that were made in the western hemisphere have promised universal rights and gave those rights to a few. By far Latin America suffered from this mistake more so than the United States, but the issues are still present. Luckily, it seems that the natural evolution of our society has been towards acceptance and equality when it comes to minority demographics.
