I listened to her sing, loving how sweet and melodic her voice was. "That's a beautiful song," I said. "I love it when you sing."

I blushed a little, then said, "Thanks, Derek, I bet you have a nice voice yourself."

"No," I denied. "My voice isn't that good. I'm only part of the choir. I' ve never had a solo in it, for that reason."

I hugged her back and said, "If you say so. But nothing beats yours."

I leaned back and said, "Maybe, but I bet that with some practice and everything, maybe your voice will bypass mine!" I smiled at him, hoping he would feel better.
