I guess I should probably introduce myself.

I am a long time lion king fan. I was there watching the movie opening day 20 years ago. Never really joined one of these forums until now. it's easily my favorite animated movie, maybe even my favorite movie period and i've watched a lot of them.

I know so much trivia about the movie. I can't count how many times I have rewatched it. I own a fair amount of memorabillia. I own the diamond edition blu ray, the dvd, the VHS, the legacy collection soundtrack cd collection, the funko pop simba vinyl figurine, I even own the marvel adaptation of the movie in comic form {it's just a retelling of the movie in comic form} that came out when the movie did. I also own simbas pride on dvd and the return to pride rock cd

I do plan on seeing the musical pretty soon for the first time....mostly because it doesn't show up very often where I live.

I thought i would go a bit more in depth. My name is Shawn, people here who have me on facebook know that already.

I am an avid gamer, i love music and movies too. The lion king is a very special movie to me, it helped me out with something when i was a kid to a large degree.

I'm autistic, aspergers to be more specific. When i was young, before i saw this movie i was cold, heavily medicated, and pretty much uncaring and didnt feel much joy.

I can pinpoint the exact moment when everything about me changed. It was when "just cant wait to be king" started playing. i started having new wonderful sensations like joy and happiness.

And then last summer this movie helped me again in another dark period of my life, 20 years later. Funny how that worked out.

This is also a movie that is very much enjoyable to me as an adult.

I live near houston texas, was born in frankfurt Germany.

I dont really know what id be like without this movie, maybe i dont want to know.
