Wow. That was the best karting experience I've ever had. The track was reasonably long, technical and interesting. The karts were fast, and the amount of grip was perfect, which made it not too easy. Those karts felt so much like the ones I used to race in San Diego, which I missed more than anything else about that place.

So, today I ran one 10 minute practice race. 11 laps total, fastest was 42.8 seconds for an average speed of ~21 mph.

Then I did a race with three other random people and beat all of them with ease. 13 laps completed, fastest was 40.1 seconds for an average speed of ~22.4 mph. The second fastest guy on the track had a best laptime of 40.8 seconds, equal to my average laptime.

My arms are sore from gripping the wheel so hard. My foot went numb halfway through the second race from holding down the pedal. I don't even care. That was totally worth $40. I can't wait to tell my friends about this so I can kick their asses, too. :P

The best laptime with those carts at that track layout is 36.077 seconds. So... I still have a lot of room for improvement. I could shave off four seconds if I find a quicker line. When I was racing, a patch of the track was wet, so I couldn't take the optimal line without getting loose. Considering, that's not bad for my first go. That's what I like to see. It means the limiting factor is not the kart or the track, but my ability to drive it. Which means I need to go back to practice more, which means I need to spend more money.

Goodbye, wallet. It was nice knowing you.

I hope I don't have to go out my room and socialise with my cousins.. I usually love seeing them but I look a mess. They'd probably get a fright.

So relieved that Lightnings eye seems to be healing. Will see what the vet says tomorrow and here is hoping she can go back in the big cage with Katniss and Fang tomorrow.
