Common sunrise

A new day had begun in the Pridelands. Kivuli, Ashur and Kokota were happily sharing a den to sleep in. The three always stuck together and were a bit uneasy at first to allow Zizi, a girl, into their group. They soon learned she was was not a lioness that took no for an answer. Eventually they accepted her and the young felines grew fond of each other and now nothing could tear them away from each other

The suns rays entered the cave, illuminating the walls with a golden shine. Kivuli was the one to wake first out of the 3 males. Ashur and Kokota were just a furry mess on the other side of the den. Kivuli chuckled at the sight of both of them as they looked in such a state, like a married couple fighting for a side of the bed as their paws tails and heads were entangled with each other

After Kivuli woke up and stretched he found that Zi was not in the cave, but he had a good idea where she was. He went outside. His den was on the side of Priderock, very private and out the way but still close to the rest of the pride. The morning air was nice and cool. Wisps of clouds scatter the sky as it radiated a mix of reds and oranges, complimenting the sun rise. With his day begun Kivuli walked round to the tip of Priderock hoping to find Zi. Sure enough she was sitting at the tip watching the sun rise

Kivuli gently approached behind her wit a smile on his face and said 'Morning Zi. I see you still enjoy watching the sunrise even after all these months' Kivuli walked up next to her and sat down. Zizi smiled at him before looking back over the lands and replied 'Yeah, i love it. I don't know what it is. I just like it. Kinda like you and the boys. Your certainly a different bunch but i enjoy having time with you three. You have made me feel welcome here from day one' Kivuli blushed a little at the kind comment made by Zizi

'Its no problem' replied Kivuli 'Im glad your father gave me the job of looking out for you. Getting to know you has been fun' Kivuli let out a yawn and stretched out his body 'I'm going for a quick drink. You want to come?' Kivuli asked Zizi, as he began setting off 'ok wait up' replied Zizi as she bounded to his side. The pair then slowly made their way down Priderock and into the savannah

Well, I must say that your attention to detail really improved in this part KK. ^^ While it's still a tad bit short, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next part whenever you get around to writing it buddy.

Hidden Motive

After about half an hour walking, Kivuli and Zizi arrived at the waterhole. Over this period of time the sun had cleared the horizon. The sky, that was filled with radiant reds and oranges was now replaces with a perfect blue sky as the last of the nights stars faded away. There were a few animals already at the waterhole, a range of elephants, zebra and atelope. Kivuli ran to the waters edge, with Zizi close behind, and sunk his head under to gulp down the cool crystal water. Zizi saw a chance to have a bit of fun with Kivuli as he was distracted

She carefully sneaked up behind the lion, as he drank, so not to disturb him. When she was close enough, Zizi raised her paws and shoved Kivuli right into the water. She then stood back and started laughing. Meanwhile, the bewildered Kivuli surfaced from the water, all drenched and glared over at Zizi 'Oh your so funny' he said sarcasticly. Zizi stopped laughing and glared back. It wasn't long before the both of them both broke into laughter. Kivuli could never be mad at Zizi, and she couldn't be mad at him

Kivuli made his way out of the water and shook his body head to tail to get rid of the water. It worked, but had a bad side effect. Kivuli looked dismayed at his reflection 'AHH!! Zi, you have made me go all fluffy!!' Kivuli tried to straighten his mane out, with no luck. He was stuck looking like a fuzz ball. Zizi trotted back over to him, giggling away, and sat down 'Don't be such a misery guts, its a bit of fun' She said 'But I'm fluffy' he replied 'I don't do fluffy. It not my style' Zizi responded by pouncing Kivuli and pinning him 'Cheer up you will be your old self in about an hour'

A voice came from behind the pair 'Id listen to her Kivuli, us girls know whats best' It was Zira, followed by Nuka, Who was a bit younger than Kivuli, but alot more skinny. Behind him were two much younger cubs, Vitani and Kovu, who had only been born for about 5 months. Zizi laughed at Zira comment and jumped off Kivuli allowing him up. 'Morning Zira' Said Kivuli 'How are you? Your up quite early' Zira came over and sat down to talk. Nuka sat next to her and the cub rested inbetween Zira's paws 'We get early sleep and rise early, mainly to get a drink before it gets to crowed round here. What about you? Your up quite early yourself' Zira waited patiently for a reply 'Guess we don't like sleeping late either'

Zira nodded in recognition at Kivuli's reply before replying 'If you will excuse me Kivuli i must get back and feed two certain little cubs' She stared down at Vitani and Kovu who grinned back at her 'See you later' Zira stood up and began walking off 'Come on Nuka' The scruffy lion jumped up and went after her with haste 'Coming mother!' Kivuli yelled after them 'See you later Zira' When Zira was out of earshot Zizi turned to Kivuli and said 'Kivuli I'm worried. There's something about her that disturbs me' Kivuli looked back at her and replied 'Ill admit she look a bit crazy but shes fine dont worry'

Meanwhile Nuka ran to his mothers side and asked 'Mother. Why don't you tell Kivuli what your planning, he is a friend and im sure would be glad to help' Zira scowled Nuka 'Don't be a fool. Have you forgotten, Kivuli aided the attack on Scar and was even planning to kill Scar himself. He cant be trusted. Besides we dont need him, we already have many joining us. We will bring Simba down I assure you, and get revenge on for my beloved Scar' She continued walking back to Priderock leading everyone astray with her 'perfect mother' act

...and the plot thickens! *Dun Dun DUN!* lol. Well, nice new part KK. Again, pretty good with the descriptive details and aside from a few little mistakes, it was a very enjoyable part to read. Keep up the awesome work buddy and looking forward to the next part.

The Expecting Queen

Back up at the main den everyone else was beginning to wake up. All that is except for Simba and Nala, who were quite happily snuggled up in on the raised area of the den. They did soon rise from their slumber as the movement of the pride disturbed their rest. Simba opened his eyes first and greeted the morning with a roar. As he stood and stretched his body out, Nala woke up too. The beautiful queen was not big on doing anything in the pas few months, and for good reason. She was pregnant, and expecting soon.

Simba leaned down and nuzzled his mate whilst uttering the words 'Morning Nala. How are you feeling?' The expecting queen looked up at the king and replied in a quiet tone 'Tired. I think its another day of rest for me' She replied 'That's ok' Simba told her 'Ill ask my mother to help out again' Nala laughed at him 'Simba don't you think she deserves some rest too?' He looked over at the other side of the den where his mother lay 'She will be fine. I think she enjoys getting out again' Simba gave Nala a lick on the cheek before making his way over to Sarabi

It was usually Nala's duty to lead the hunting parties and supply food, but with the pregnancy she could not do so. Thankfully Sarabi was more than willing to take the duty back up like she used to, but like any old mother she needed a little coaxing. Simba came over and gently nudged her waking Sarabi up. She rolled over gently grunting and opened her eyes 'Let me guess' she said 'Hunt for food?' Sarabi looked at Simba as she spoke the words with a little sarcasm inside her voice.

Simba smiled and replied 'If you wouldn't mind, it would mean alot to me' Sarabi stood up and gave her son a loving a nuzzle 'Of course I don't mind, I know what a burden pregnancy can be' Sarabi's words made Simba blush a little 'Well er thanks' Simba said sheepishly 'Ill leave you to it then' Sarabi bowed to Simba before walking outside to start rallying lionesses for the hunt. Simba meanwhile was back with Nala. As he nuzzled her soft muzzle he asked 'Do you feel like going for a drink?'

The queen responded by slowly rising up. It was clear she was near giving birth as her baby bulge was quite large. Once finding her feet she replied back 'Why not I'm thirsty and some fresh air would do me good. Ive been stuck in here for ages' They smiled at each other before walking side by side out the den and down Priderock into the grasslands on their way to the waterhole

Well, it took me a few hours, but I'm finally caught up on your fanfic! And I must say, it's a very good one! I absolutely adore this storyline and the characters of Kivuli and the other adolescent lions. YOu do such a great job at writing them and making them interesting... heck, I enjoy reading about them more than I enjoy reading about the original TLK characters! I'm excited to see what the addition of Mila will do to the other three, if anything. I also have to mention that, as I just read through the whole thing, I can tell that you've improved a ton with your fanfic writing abilities, so kudos to you for that! Really enjoying this story, though. You're doing a fantastic job, keep it up!

The Queens View

On the way across the grasslands to get a drink, Simba and Nala had already missed Zira on her way back, but it gave the royal couple a chance to grab some one on one time. Something then had never really had since Simba became king. He had issues finding his feet, seeing as when he was a cub he ran away before his father could finish teaching him how to be king. Thankfully his mother and the rest of the pride were willing to help and support him. After many seasons of chaos the pridelands had peace once again

During the walk Simba's curiosity beg a question to Nala about one of the pride members 'Nala can I ask you something?' She turned to her mate and replied with a smile 'Well of course you can. Whats on your mind?' Simba looked back at her and responded 'Since I took over I haven't gotten to know the members of the pride to well, I've been too busy, but I was wondering what you could tell me about Kivuli and his friends?'

Nala giggled at the question before responding. She let her mind wander back to the days when she was in the pridelands with him 'He and his brother were very playful as cubs. It didn't bother them they lived in bad times, they made the best of it. Sometimes members of the pride would play with them, including myself. They actually brought some happiness to us without knowing. Then there was his mother'

Nala took a quick breath before continuing 'She was a beautiful lion. Her fur was a light gray mixed with pure white, and her perfect hazel eyes. She loved her sons so much, even though their father abandoned them. Sadly that love was broken when she died. At first we thought it was an accident but it turns out scar had killed her. From that day I saw a change in Kivuli, an anger. He hid it though for his brothers sake. A couple seasons had passed. Your mother adopted Kivuli, Kokota, and Ashur, who was a stray. The three became close very quickly'

Nala laughed a little remembering how crazy the 3 cubs were together 'They were always in bother of some sort but we all looked after them. Eventually though i left to find help. My mother told me what happened. Kivuli had had enough and began training with Kokota and Ashur to kill scar. After kivuli learned the truth about his mother he went crazy. Within 24 hours he was coming to kill scar. Then you arrived and did that for him' She gave him a quick grin 'Some of the pride say that he could still take you on and win if given the chance. Even your own mother' Nala laughed again, the though of Kivuli out doing her mate somehow seem highly amusing

Simba dropped his jaw in shock 'You kidding right? Hes just a teen!' Simba was dumbfounded and Nala didn't help 'I'm not kidding' she replied 'He may be young but hes already big and quite strong. Even i think he will give you a challenge' Simba stopped dead in his tracks as Nala walked on a little before looking back at him 'Is that so?' he responded 'Guess I'm just gonna have to prove you wrong sometime' a cheeky grin washed over his face, before the couple continued on their walk

Wow, KK i have to say i just read your whole story, and i think i learned from it...
It's a great read and it shows just how good fan fictions can be when given time and effort into them...

I can't wait to read more please keep them coming!
