The Torn Up Ring - A Short Story

Isn't it funny, How in just a portion of a second, your short life will end?
It's your time, it's my time, it's all our time.
I guess that isn't so funny.
Yet, I could only help but squeeze out a laugh,
As the butt of a gun, layed right in front of my eyes.

I was in my home. Where else would a "Drama Queen" killer go? Do I look like a teenager? No. I am but a man.
What he wanted was impossible. He wanted my wifes wedding ring. The one that fell down the sink, while I ran the garbage disposal, and ripped into a million unforgiving shreds of lost love.

Im a few moments, my head might have the same fate as this ring.
I'll wonder, like an old man would, what this world has come too.
This is insane though, we all are human beings, we all inhale on oxegen, and hydrogen, and well, we are all out for blood.

Yes blood, each human injests a pound a day, through the mad cows, and the swine flu pigs. We all crave it, and some go out with their stupid little shotguns, and get their meat.

My head indeed has the same fate as that ring. People all run and scream, towards my house. The killer already fled the scene. Yet, I know, just this one thing. They all wish they were the killer. For the blood of sweet, pure innocence would be all over their unforgiving faces. They love blood.

Innocence, yeah, what a fake word.

I'll leave you with this, my friend.
Wheter it's a ripped up ring, or a ripped up head, we all live for one thing.

As long as you know this, you'll survive this world. I sure wish I was given that chance.
