[Me and Mitch thought of this. Hope you like it :3]

Defender of the innocent

Not many people know about the defender of the innocent. Let alone care for it, and yes ‘it.’ The people who actually know the defender, or have seen it, are either too scared to speak about it. Most people don’t even believe he does good. So that is where our story begins, not after he comes along, but before. The world before the defender, the host before the defender, Flash Thompson’s life, before Venom.

“Flash!”
“Uh yes?”
“Can you pay attention please?”
“Uh yeah. Sorry Madam Clayton.”
“Don’t let it happen again.” Madam Clayton said to Flash. The schools bell rang, and the small French class stood up, and walked for the door that was beside the teachers desk. As Flash walked by, Madam Clayton said “I better not catch you with your head down again Flash.” “You wont Madam.” Flash said, as he rubbed his eye when he walked out the door.

The halls were crowded with miserable individuals, who awaited the final dismissal bell of the day. Flash kept his bag and belongings to himself occasionally checking his phone for the time. Staring at the ground, he barley even begun to notice a smaller man with brown hair sporting square glasses and carrying an almost snapped skateboard. They collided within seconds sending books and the boys skateboard flying.

"Hey what the hell are y-Peter! Hey bud, didn't notice it was you!"
"Yeah, it's me! Who'd ya think it was? Spiderman?" Laughed Peter, almost nervously.
"I wish, he's amazing! See, I got a patch of his symbol on my jacket!"
"Heh, cool man. Anyways, I gotta go. Seeya." Peter walked away as Flash sighed.
'Flash you idiot, you sounded like a five year old!' Thoughts running through his head as he ran his skinney fingers through his gelled auburn hair.

The number of students in the hallway decreased once the second bell rung through their ears. As always, Flash was about five minutes late. He felt the eyes of his peers on his body, then sat in his seat, behind Willow.

"D-Did I miss anything?" Whispering into her ear as his breath moved her golden hair.
"Not really, just the introduction to Shakespeare."
"Thanks, oh and uh, nice hair.. I love it when you straighten it."
A giggle emitted from her red, glossy lipstick as she muttered a quick thanks.
Flash, again, felt stupid. He yearned to talk with her, and have her be his. Before he could even begin to talk to her, he had to get rid of this fear of rejection. They've only known eachother for the year, and he fell in love the moment he saw her, having yet to kiss her.
Shaking his head, and sighing silently he started paying attention again.

As boring as it was, classes ended and the final bell rang. Plenty of students went home, and some stayed behind. Flash chose to leave, feeling very much tired from the lack of sleep he got the night before.
His house was a mere 12 blocks from the school in a middle class apartment. Usually he walked, since his mother was too busy working to even decide to pick her only son up from school.

Keeping his head down, and his headphones on high he walked the hour home. Until the blinking red and blue lights caught his eye. 2 Police cruisers flew past him and down the road. Not a second later, Spiderman swung by, and almost everyone on the street started clapping and cheering, including Flash.
A deep feeling waved through Flash's body, and chilled his back. Desperatly, he wanted to be just like Spiderman, saving people from something they didn't deserve. He mostly wanted to be accepted by the people, just like Spiderman.

Almost an hour later, Flash arrived home, taking only a few moments to get a Monster Energy from the small store on the corner. Again, his mother hasn't home, but a note was left on the fridge by them.

'Flash. We'll be home around eleven. Pizza money on the counter. Love ya!'

She couldn't even bother putting a full I Love You anymore, almost like she didn't care, or she didn't even love him. Whatever, at least she left him pizza money for dinner. Usually Flash saved it, for school lunches, but he already had more than enough money for school, so decided to use the money for an actual dinner. Instead of the usual Roman Noodles diet he's been on for dinner.

Flash did the usual routine every teenage boy did after school, watched television. An unusual ping went through his chest, he wanted to enjoy the city again, and go outside. Though, it was getting quite dark, and bad people came out this late. Still, Flash rose from his seat and went out the door, grabbing the money his mother had left him.
