Yeah, it's gonna cover the courtships of Sonic and Sally and Elias and Sonia, the girls accepting the proposals, Robotnik's first attack and the return to Knothole.

Here's chapter 3. Sorry if the romance bit seems a bit rushed, but this part was inspired by Aladdin and Jasmine's courtship in "Aladdin", so just ignore the seeming quickness. Enjoy.

Chapter 3


Sonic and his siblings and companions were given a tour of Castle Acorn and then they were shown to their rooms. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Everyone unpacked and relaxed a bit. Like the palace back in Knothole, Castle Acorn had several relaxation chambers, and it was to one of these that Sonic and Sally were taken so that Sonic could begin courting her. When they arrived at the room, they sat on opposite couches. There was a moment of silence. Finally, Sally spoke.

“I’ve never seen anyone make as grand an entrance as you did,” she began.

“Yeah, it’s kind of a tradition in my kingdom. But enough about me. How about you?” Sonic said.

“Well, there’s not much to say. I’m the daughter of the current king and the sister of the future king,” Sally replied.

“And the future queen of the Kingdom of Hedgehog, should you choose to accept my proposal,” Sonic said playfully.

Though she was amused inside, Sally kept her neutral expression.

“I’ll decide if I want to marry you or not. I want to be sure you’re not like the other princes,” she stated.

“Other princes?” Sonic asked.

Sally explained what had happened with her previous suitors.

“Well, I assure you, I’m not like them,” Sonic said.

The talk continued. Meanwhile, Elias decided that it was time to go and talk with Sonia. However, he was a bit nervous, and so he decided to go and mentally prepare himself in the peace and tranquility of the palace gardens. When he arrived, he found Sonia there. She was busy admiring the beautiful flowers.

“Hello, Princess,” he said to get Sonia’s attention.

It worked. Sonia turned and saw Elias standing there.

“Hello, your majesty,” she replied.

“Please, just call me Elias,” Elias insisted.

“Well then. What brings you out here?” Sonia asked.

Elias took a deep breath to calm his nerves. He was unprepared to speak with the beautiful hedgehog that now stood before him.

“This is kind of hard to say, but since you arrived with your brother’s parade earlier, I found you attractive,” he said, hoping that she wouldn’t be put off by his sudden feelings.

Far from being put off, Sonia was touched.

“You really thought that about me?” she asked.

“Yes. I’ve never seen a girl as beautiful as you,” Elias replied.

Sonia smiled as they continued talking. Meanwhile, back in Knothole, Amy was spending some time with Tails. However, she was unusually quiet due to missing her cousins. Tails looked her in the eyes.

“Amy, are you ok?” the young fox asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s just that I miss Sonic, Sonia and Manic,” Amy said.

“They’ll be back soon,” Tails answered.

“I know, but it’s just not the same without them,” Amy replied.

Tails paused for a moment, and then spoke.

“Do you think Sonic will succeed?” he asked.

“I believe in him. Whatever he does, he usually succeeds,” Amy stated.

Tails nodded as he listened. In Mobotropolis, the day had passed and it was now dinner time. Everyone sat down at a large table in the banquet hall. The Acorn family listened eagerly as Sonic told them about his family and kingdom.

“And so, ever since our ancestors’ incident with the chaos emerald, every single member of our family has displayed some sort of power, which begins to develop at age five or so,” Sonic said, finishing the story of how his family had acquired their powers.

“You never did tell us what your power was,” Sally replied.

“Well, I can run at the speed of light, Sonia can become invisible and Manic can freeze things solid with a touch,” Sonic explained.

“Your power must have made things difficult for your parents when you were young,” Elias said to Sonia.

Sonia smiled.

“Actually, it wasn’t. When I was five and my power began to manifest, my parents attached a bell to my clothes that I wasn’t allowed to take off except when it was time to go to bed,” she replied.

Everyone laughed. The talk continued through the meal. After dinner, Sally decided to go out on one of the palace balconies and look at the night sky. After she had been out there for a bit, Sonic arrived on the scene.

“Mondo beautiful isn’t it?” the blue hedgehog asked.

Sally turned and looked at him.

“Yes. I remember when Elias and I were little and our parents would bring out to one of the balconies and show us the stars,” she said.

Sonic joined Sally at the rail.

“Did they ever tell what the stars were?” he asked.

“No. What do you mean by that?” Sally replied.

“When Sonia, Manic and I were little, our mom and dad took us out to one of the balconies. While we were there, Dad would tell us what the stars were,” Sonic answered.

“And what did he tell you?” Sally said.

Sonic smiled proudly.

“He told us that the great kings and queens of the past are up there looking down on us, and that whenever we feel alone, they would be there to guide us, and so would he and our mother,” he stated.

“I’ve never heard that before,” Sally answered.

They continued stargazing for awhile. Days began to pass. Sonic and Sally continued talking, as did Elias and Sonia. As the days went by, Sally realized that Sonic wasn’t at all like the other princes. He truly cared for her, not just for her beauty. She began to reciprocate his feelings. Sonic couldn’t have been more pleased. The same was true for Elias and Sonia. Manic and the others watched with great interest.

“It’s love!” Mira said excitedly.

“It seems that Sonic has succeeded,” Leeta replied.

Everyone nodded in agreement. Soon, it was the second-to-last day before Sonic and his siblings and friends were to return home. It was now time for Sally to decide whether she would marry Sonic.

“So, Sally, have you decided?” Max asked.

“Yes, Daddy. I will marry Prince Sonic,” Sally declared proudly.

The squirrmunk then hugged Sonic. It was then that Elias stepped in. He looked at his father.

“Father, if it pleases you, I would like to marry Princess Sonia, as she has stolen my heart,” he stated.

“And he has stolen mine,” Sonia added.

Max was beside himself with joy.

“My children are both in love and have chosen their future spouses. This is a joyous day!” the king exclaimed.

Preparations were made for the return to Knothole. However, the next day, just as they were getting ready to go, Robotnik put his invasion plan into motion. A guard burst into the throne room.

“Sire, we are in trouble!” he began.

“What is it?” Max asked.

“Dr. Robotnik is outside the city preparing to invade,” the guard answered.

Max began to issue orders to assemble the army. Sonic and his siblings and companions got ready for battle.

“Do you have any experience of a fight?” Max asked upon seeing this.

“No, but we've been taught battle tactics and we’re ready to protect the city,” Sonic replied.

It was then decided that Sally and Sonia would stay behind with Alicia for their protection. Everyone else followed Max and the army. As they left the palace, Fiona sneered at the group from the transport vehicle.

“Look at them coming to their demise,” she said.

It was then that the attack began. Sonic sped over to the war machine Robotnik was in.

“The game’s over! You have already lost!” Sonic began.

Robotnik snickered before replying.

“No, it is you who has lost, pathetic rodent,” he answered.

It was then that the battle began. It was a ferocious fight, one in which Sonic bravely went head-to-head with Robotnik, dodging his every attack and mocking the would-be dictator about his past defeats until, finally, he was able to destroy the war machine in which Robotnik was riding. Robotnik lived, but he simply could not take another defeat. He was furious.

“I…HATE…THAT…HEDGEHOG!!!” he shouted.

Meanwhile, the others and the army were busy wrecking the SWATbots and other machines. Seeing this, Robotnik, Snively, Fiona, Sleet and Dingo fled for the hideout to come up with a new plan. The Mobians celebrated their great victory. Max led them back to the palace. The next day, after putting a highly trusted official in charge of the kingdom and the clean-up effort, Max and his family accompanied Sonic and his entourage, for he and Alicia had to finalize the marriage plans with Sonic’s family. Levi and Aleena were worried about Sonic, Sonia and Manic being a day late. Levi attempted to console his wife.

“I’m sure they’re all right, my love,” Levi said.

Just then, one of Levi’s messengers, a hawk, came in.

“Sire, your children are on the way. I flew over and saw Sonic’s parade on the route to the city,” the hawk said.

“Excellent. Prepare everything for their arrival,” Levi ordered.

The hawk left to do as he was told. Soon, Sonic and the others arrived. After the triplets greeted their family and explained what had happened to make them a day late, the Hedgehog and Acorn families were introduced to each other, and after a period of discussion, the marriage arrangements were made. As well, Manic and Mina would be married alongside Sonic and Sally and Elias and Sonia. Meanwhile, in Robotnik’s lair, Robotnik was raging at his allies over their loss.

“HOW COULD WE HAVE FAILED?! THE PLAN WAS FOOL-PROOF!” he shouted at Snively.

Fiona didn’t speak and encouraged Sleet and Dingo to do the same, but Dingo didn’t listen.

“Perhaps you’ll win next time,” he said.

Robotnik suddenly stopped, as if he was actually considering Dingo’s statement.

“Yes, next time, and I know how to make that happen,” he said.

“How?” Fiona asked.

“With most of the SWATbots destroyed, we will need new help,” Robotnik replied.

“From who?” Snively asked.

“From my ally in the Dragon Kingdom,” Robotnik answered.

“You mean…?” Sleet said.

“Yes. Jun Kun, The Iron King,” Robotnik stated.

After resting overnight, Robotnik and his allies began their journey to the Dragon Kingdom. Upon arrival, they headed for Jun Kun’s citadel, the Iron Fortress. When they reached the imposing building, guards stopped them.

“Halt! What is your business?!” one guard demanded.

“I’m here to see the Iron King. I have a proposal for him,” Robotnik replied.

“Very well. I will go and tell him that you are here, though I advise you to remember that he may not be in the mood to accept visitors,” the guard warned.

“I understand,” Robotnik replied.

“Then follow me,” the guard answered.

And so they did. Before they knew it, they found themselves in the throne room. At the back of the room, on a throne atop the dais, sat Jun Kun himself. Fiona, Sleet, Dingo and Snively took a good look at him. He was a gigantic, dangerous-looking ox with brown fur and featureless white eyes. He was also clad in armor. As well, he was the second strongest being on Mobius. The guard went to inform him.

“Master, you have visitors,” he said, pointing in Robotnik’s direction.

Jun Kun looked.

“Robotnik. What brings you before me again?” he began.

Robotnik smiled.

“Your majesty, I propose that we join together for an attack on Mobotropolis,” he said.

The ox gave a slight snort.

“You didn’t see fit to come to me following our first meeting,” he stated.

“But now he wants your help so that he doesn’t lose again,” Dingo said.

Robotnik, Snively, Fiona and Sleet glared. Back on the dais, Jun Kun burst into laughter.

“Lose?! Perhaps you’re not as strong as I thought,” he said.

Robotnik decided to switch tactics in his negotiation.

“Great and all-powerful Iron King, if you assist me in my mission of conquest, you will have the pleasure of killing the king yourself,” he said.

Jun Kun looked forward.

“Very well, my forces and I will accompany you. However, I would prefer to attack Knothole first and then Mobotropolis,” the ox stated.

“Agreed. Thank you, your majesty,” Robotnik replied.

And so, the alliance between Robotnik and Jun Kun began.
