It's a
poem. Isn't poetry supposed to be symbolic? USA:
Northern Hemisphere. President = King. President's land = kingdom.
Believe me, it's very easy to tweak your poem to sound like it's about the US. Especially when you add your "Lives taken for granted", "The great era of power" (is over), and "The Northern empire" (is over), add to your rather famous attitude towards the US, and it's easy to see how it applies.
But if you were more literal than that, I think it's about Great Britain. An empire that was proud to have so much land that "the sun never sets on the British Empire", and completely whittled down to the mainland, and finally officially declared over in 1999.[/quote]

March homewards men Referring to a certain march back home

The kingdom bleeds
A red arrow represents a country
Pierced
Its blue heart Represents the fallen Empire

A life for the good
Of a kingdom Whole stanza represents a fearless leader
Returning
Lives taken for granted Referring to a great battle, this battle was basically a suicide mission for the empire.
Who let it happen
The great era of power
Is over
The Northern empire
Has fallen
