Ok, I've been wanting to do a musical story for a long time. Hence, I've done this. I will be spoofing TLK, Aladdin and other series. Sonic's real name is Mufasa in this version. No bashing or flaming please.

*The setting is the plains and hills of the planet Mobius. A furry being riding a reptilian beast of burden appears in the distance. As he gets closer, he begins to sing.*


Furry Being:


Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place

Where the wild Terrapods roam

Where it's grand and immense

And the wind is intense

It's annoying, but hey, it's home

When the wind's from the east

And the sun's from the west

And the coolness of the grass is right

Hop a hoverboard and fly

To another Mobian night

Mobian nights

Like Mobian days

Are wilder than wild

In a lot of good ways

*As the song ends, the furry being enters a vast and magnificent city. He pulls his mount’s reins and brings it to a complete stop at the gates of a palace. The being gets off the reptilian creature and looks towards us. We see that he is some sort of squirrel/chipmunk mix with red hair and blue eyes.*

Furry being: Greetings, friends. I am Prince Ali Acorn-Hedgehog, future king of the Kingdom of Hedgehog. Welcome to Knothole, city of mystery and wonder. Of this city, there are many great and wonderful tales.

*The camera moves in closer to him, as if getting closer for better listening*

Ali: Among the greatest tales of all is that of my ancestors, King Mufasa the Hedgehog, better known as Sonic, and his beautiful and beloved wife, Sally Alicia Acorn-Hedgehog. They were some of the most powerful and beloved of all of our rulers. Perhaps you would like to hear the tale? Well, it all begins long ago…

*The scene fades and goes into flashback*

Thanks Nitro. I've had this idea in my head for quite some time now, and only today did I find the time to put it up. Thanks for the comment. The next chapter will contain the start of the actual story and the first TLK spoof in the story (Sonic doing IJCWTBK).

Chapter 1


Princess Sally Acorn sat in her chambers within Castle Acorn, looking out the window at the city of Mobotropolis. The sunshine that shone through illuminated the lovely princess, causing her beautiful red hair and brown fur to shine and her lovely blue eyes to sparkle with dazzling brilliance. At the moment, she was feeling sad. The issue was that, according to the law of her father’s kingdom, the Kingdom of Acorn, she was soon supposed to marry a prince from one of the other Mobian kingdoms, but all of the princes that had come seeking the beautiful squirrmunk’s hand had been selfish and arrogant. They only wanted to marry her for her immense beauty, not for love. Thus, she had rejected each and every one of them. Sally sighed as she remembered all those times. Just then, there was a knock at the door.

“Come in,” Sally said.

The door opened, revealing Sally’s parents, King Max Acorn and Queen Alicia Acorn.

“Are you here to talk about this whole marriage thing?” Sally asked.

“Yes. Sally, you need to stop rejecting every suitor that comes to call,” Max replied.

“But Daddy, they’re all egotistical braggarts,” Sally answered.

Max sighed.

“Look, Sally, it’s not just the law. I’m not going to be around forever and I want to make sure you’re provided for,” he stated.

“Provided for? Do you think I can’t take care of myself?” Sally retorted.

Max felt himself getting frustrated.

“Look, you will never have the responsibilities that Elias will have, unless of course something was to happen to him. If that were to become true, you would need someone to rule with you,” the king continued.

“Speaking of Elias, why aren’t you forcing him to find a spouse?” Sally asked.

“Your brother will find a wife soon enough. Right now, he studying to be a proper king,” Max said with a frown.

Sally looked at her father irritatedly.

“And let me guess, she has to be a princess,” she replied.

Max had had enough.

“Yes. That is the law,” he said.

“I want to marry for love,” Sally stated.

Max looked his daughter in the eyes, ignoring her statement.

“Now, Sally, I have arranged a meeting with one more prince. He will be coming soon. I want you to give him a chance,” he told her.

“Who?” Sally asked.

“He’s a prince of the Kingdom of Hedgehog, the largest, wealthiest and most powerful kingdom on Mobius,” Max explained.

Sally knew what her father was talking about. The kingdom of Hedgehog was indeed the largest and most powerful kingdom the Mobian race had ever seen. As for its royal family, it was said that the family had, in the days of its ancestors, been given extraordinary powers after absorbing large amounts of chaos energy. From then on, each family member, on both the king and queen’s sides of the family, boasted these powers, in different ways. It was said that the king was the strongest being on Mobius, while the queen could shapeshift into a fierce lioness. With regard to their children and other family members, Sally had never heard of what their powers were. She was now quite curious about it.

“Very well. I will meet him, but I can’t guarantee that I’ll accept him,” Sally answered.

“All I ask is that you give him a chance,” Max replied.

The king then turned and left. Sally sighed.

“Why do we even have this stupid law that I have to marry a prince?” the young squirrmunk said in immense frustration.

Alicia sat down next to her daughter.

“If it makes you feel any better, when I married your father, I wasn’t a princess,” the queen said.

Sally looked up.

“But why was he allowed to marry you?” she asked.

“At the time, a suitable princess couldn’t be found, so as a member of one of the leading noble families, I was chosen instead,” Alicia replied.

Sally gave a slight smile and hugged her mother.

“Thanks, Mom. I feel better now,” she said.

“You’re welcome, dear,” Alicia answered.

Mother and daughter then left the room together. Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Hedgehog, in the royal palace in the capital city of Knothole, the preparations for the prince’s journey to Mobotropolis, which would happen in two days’ time, were underway. Overseeing it all were the king, Levi, and the queen, Aleena. Levi was a handsome hedgehog with yellow fur and blue eyes. He was indeed the strongest being on Mobius. Aleena was absolutely gorgeous, with purple fur, long, flowing, silken purple hair and beautiful golden-brown eyes. She also possessed an incredibly beautiful, lean, lithe body. As with Levi’s strength, the stories of her turning into a lioness were true. Levi and Aleena’s love was the stuff of legend in the Kingdom of Hedgehog, and it was this love that had given rise to the royal triplets: Mufasa “Sonic” the Hedgehog, a handsome blue-furred male hedgehog with the power of great speed, Sonia the Hedgehog, a beautiful magenta-furred female hedgehog with the power of invisibility and Obi “Manic” the Hedgehog, a handsome green-furred male hedgehog with the power to freeze things solid with a mere touch. With them was their friend Mira, a gorgeous leopardess whom Sonic had had many flirtations with. Also following them was Geoffrey St. John, an Australian-accented skunk who served as head of the royal protection agency, but was more often called upon to watch Sonic and his siblings. The skunk hated this job. At the moment, he was speaking on the issue of Sonic’s cockiness.

“If you continue on this path, mate, you’ll never be a great king,” he said.

Sonic smirked.

“Not the way I see it, Geoffrey St. Jerk,” he said.

*Sonic leaps in front of him and begins to sing*

Sonic:

I’m going to be a mighty king

So enemies beware!

Geoffrey: Well, I’ve never seen a future king so unprepared!

Sonic:

I’m going to be the main event

Like no king was before

I’m brushing up on looking down

I’m preparing for my reign!

Geoffrey: Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing.

Sonic: Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!

Geoffrey: You’ve got a rather long way to go, young one. If you think…

[Sonic and Mira stand on either side of Geoffrey, making faces at him when he turns to look at one of them. Manic and Sonia laugh.]

Sonic: No one saying do this

Geoffrey: Now when I said that, I...

Mira: No one saying be there

Geoffrey: What I meant was…

Sonic: No one saying stop that

Geoffrey: Look, what you don’t realize…

Sonic and Mira: No one saying see here

Geoffrey: Now see here!

Sonic: Free to run around all day!

Geoffrey: Well, that’s definitely out…

Sonic: Free to do it all my way!

[Sonic, his siblings and Mira are running through the palace. Geoffrey walks ahead of them, looking back to talk at them and not paying attention. He crashes into a pillar.]

Geoffrey:

I think it’s time you and I

Arranged a heart-to-heart

[Sonic jumps in front of him]

Sonic:

Kings don’t need advice from stinky skunks

For a start

[Geoffrey stands with his arms folded across his chest]

Geoffrey:

If this is where the monarchy is headed

Count me out!

Out of service, out of Knothole

I wouldn't hang about...

[Mira pulls Geoffrey’s tail]

Geoffrey: This child is getting wildly out of hand!

Sonic: Oh I just can’t wait to be king!

[The gang passes a group of guards, who bow to them. Geoffrey attempts to walk past the guards, who glare menacingly at him. He cowers]

[Sonic. his siblings and Mira enter an area of the palace containing a large group of Mobians]

Sonic: Everybody look left

[The Mobians run to the left, trampling Geoffrey]

Sonic: Everybody look right

[The Mobians run to the right, trampling Geoffrey again]

[Sonic jumps onto a table, landing in a theatrical pose]

Sonic: Everywhere you look, I’m standing spotlight!

Geoffrey: Not yet!

Manic, Sonia, Mira, chorus:

Let every creature go for broke and sing

Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing

It’s going to be King Sonic’s finest fling!

[The chorus forms a pyramid with Sonic and Mira on top and Manic and Sonia off to the side]

Sonic, Mira, Manic, Sonia and chorus:

Oh I just can't wait to be king!

Oh I just can't wait to be king!

Oh I just can't waaaaaait ... to be king!

[The pyramid collapses, leaving one of the Mobians, a rhino, sitting on Geoffrey. The other animals scatter as the song ends, and Sonic, his siblings and Mira run off.]

Geoffrey (speaking): Pardon me, but GET OFF! Your majesties? Mira?


The siblings and their friends made their way to a chamber. Meanwhile, Levi and Aleena were relaxing with some friends and relatives. Sitting closest to the king and queen were Chuck, a hedgehog with pale blue fur , a grayish-white mustache and power over the element of earth who was Levi’s younger brother and his Grand Vizier as well as the kingdom’s leading scientist, a pretty red-furred female hedgehog with power over the element of wind named Hana who was Chuck’s wife and Aleena’s sister, two echidnas, an orange-furred male named Hector and his pink-furred wife Lila-Le, who served as the royal family’s bodyguards, a pair of French-accented coyotes, Armand D’Coolette, who was the kingdom’s supreme general, and his wife Vivian, a pair of Red foxes, Amadeus Prower, who was Armand’s lieutenant and the head of palace defense, and his wife Rosemary, a pair of wolves, a brown-furred male named David, the guardian of the royal treasury, and his white-furred wife and fellow guardian Shaleena, a pair of rabbits, a golden-brown-furred male with a slight southern accent named Hiram Rabbot, who served as Levi’s majordomo, and his cream-furred wife Vanilla, a pair of leopards, a black-furred male named Aaron and his normal-colored wife Thamani, who served as the guardians of the royal archives and were Mira’s parents, and a pair of Australian-accented raccoons, a male named Mick and his wife Sue, who performed various tasks around the palace. At the moment, they were all discussing Sonic and his impending departure.

“I hope Sonic is successful,” Hana said.

“I hope so too, but I think he will manage to win over the princess of the Kingdom of Acorn,” Levi said.

“I agree,” Aleena answered.

“But what if she doesn’t?” Aaron said.

“Then he will start looking elsewhere. Remember what the law states,” Levi answered.

Aaron remembered the law. It stated that a prince or princess was able to marry whomever they found worthy. The leopard smiled.

“Well, it’s not like he doesn’t have a wide assortment of possible brides available. For example, my daughter has had flirtations with Prince Sonic in the past,” he said.

Levi chuckled.

“Indeed. But, it is up to him,” the king replied.

The conversation continued. Meanwhile, in the chamber, Sonic’s siblings and friends were throwing a “good luck” get-together for him. The triplets’ group of friends consisted of Hector and Lila-Le’s hot-headed, red-furred son Knuckles, the two daughters of Hiram and Vanilla, an attractive young adult rabbit with golden-brown fur named Bunnie and a six year-old rabbit with cream-colored fur named Cream, Rouge, a beautiful white-furred bat who was the daughter of the couple who ran the royal spy agency, Armand and Vivian’s son Antoine, who was known for three things: his practice with the sword, his extremely poor grasp of the English language and for being a complete coward, David and Shaleena’s black-haired, silver-furred daughter Lupe, two twin sister wolves with pink fur named Leeta and Lyco, Amadeus and Rosemary’s ten-year old son Miles, who was notable for having two tails, which gave him his nickname of “Tails”, Mick and Sue’s hyperactive eight-year old daughter Marine and Manic’s girlfriend, a yellow-furred, lilac-haired mongoose named Mina. Also prominent in the group was eleven-year old Amy Rose Hedgehog, a pink-furred hedgehog with green eyes who was Chuck and Hana’s daughter and Sonic, Sonia and Manic’s cousin. She was noted for having a major crush on Tails, often playfully proclaiming that she would marry him one day.

“I hope you succeed, Sonic,” Amy said.

“Any girl who marries you is lucky,” Mira added.

Sonic smiled at the leopardess that he had had several flirtations with in the past. Though they had never been a true couple, they had shared a kiss once or twice during the course of these flirtations.

“Thanks, Mira,” the speedy blue hedgehog answered.

It was then that Sonia stood up and raised her drink.

“I propose a toast. To my brother, the future king!” she stated.

“To Sonic, the future king!” everyone exclaimed.

They all toasted. Knuckles shared a kiss with Bunnie, who was his girlfriend. The celebration continued and all had a good time. That night, back in Mobotropolis, as she headed for her room, Sally was stopped by Elias.

“Sally, I just want you to know that even if it doesn’t work out with the prince of the Hedgehog kingdom, I’ll do all I can to ensure your happiness,” Elias said.

Sally smiled.

“Thank you, Elias,” she replied.

Brother and sister shared a hug and then continued on their way. Everyone needed their rest, for the preparations for Sonic’s arrival had to be finalized. As she fell asleep, Sally hoped that the coming prince was not like all the others.

Chapter 2


Though everything seemed like it, not all was peaceful on Mobius. In a hidden lab in a distant corner of the planet, a grotesquely fat member of the race of mutated human descendants known as Overlanders sat in his seat. He was known only as Dr. Robotnik. He was a brilliant but power-hungry scientist, and it was this hunger for power that had caused him to be exiled from his own people. Since then, he had made attacks on both Knothole and Mobotropolis, but had been defeated. Now, he was ready to put his ultimate plan into motion. To that end, Robotnik had enlisted the help a trio of traitorous Mobian bounty hunters: an attractive, crafty and intelligent female Red fox named Fiona, a somewhat less intelligent male Grey wolf named Sleet and a highly unintelligent male dingo named Dingo.

“This will be my ultimate victory over the two greatest Mobian kingdoms. From there, we will defeat the others,” Robotnik began.

“We appreciate your call. It’s been some time since we’ve had work,” Fiona answered.

“Yeah!” Dingo exclaimed in a childish burst of excitement.

Sleet just growled. Robotnik then turned to a short, green-clad Overlander. This was his nephew Snively.

“Is everything ready for the invasion?” Robotnik asked.

“Yes, Dr. Robotnik. The SWATbot army is ready, as are the war machines,” Snively answered.

“Excellent,” Robotnik replied.

It was then that Sleet interjected.

“And what do we get for this?” he asked.

“Why, the honor of being my enforcers,” Robotnik replied.

“We don’t work for free,” Fiona stated.

“Very well. You will be paid from the royal treasuries,” Robotnik said.

Sleet, Dingo and Fiona thought about it for a moment.

“You have a deal,” Fiona told Robotnik.

Robotnik gave an evil chuckle.

*The scene cuts back to Ali*

Ali (singing):

Over there, very far away, lived this wicked man

The enemy to Sonic and his clan

And this tyrant, this would-be conqueror

Wished the good King Levi dead

He was greasy and obese

As well as unspeakably sick

This despicable parasite

What a villain, boo hiss!

Further proof, dears, that this

Is another Mobian night

*Ali turns to us once more*

Ali (speaking): However, Robotnik was not the only villain Sonic had to deal with. There was also Jun Kun of the Dragon Kingdom, a mighty and villainous ox with great strength. Knowing his might, Robotnik decided to ally with him.

*The scene switches over to Robotnik, Snively, Fiona, Sleet and Dingo outside Jun Kun’s citadel*

Seeing Robotnik and his allies, guards stopped them.

“Halt! What is your business?!” one guard demanded.

“I’m here to see the Iron King. I have a proposal for him,” Robotnik replied.

“Very well. I will go and tell him that you are here, though I advise you to remember that he may not be in the mood to accept visitors,” the guard warned.

“I understand,” Robotnik replied.

“Then follow me,” the guard answered.

And so they did. Before they knew it, they found themselves in the throne room. At the back of the room, on a throne atop the dais, sat Jun Kun himself. Fiona, Sleet, Dingo and Snively took a good look at him. He was a gigantic, dangerous-looking ox with brown fur and featureless white eyes. He was also clad in armor. As well, he was the second strongest being on Mobius. The guard went to inform him.

“Master, you have visitors,” he said, pointing in Robotnik’s direction.

Jun Kun looked.

“Robotnik. What brings you before me again?” he began.

Robotnik smiled.

“Your majesty, I propose that we join together for an attack on Mobotropolis,” he said.

The ox gave a slight snort.

“You didn’t see fit to come to me following our first meeting,” he stated.

“But now he wants your help so that he doesn’t lose again,” Dingo said.

Robotnik, Snively, Fiona and Sleet glared. Back on the dais, Jun Kun burst into laughter.

“Lose?! Perhaps you’re not as strong as I thought,” he said.

Robotnik decided to switch tactics in his negotiation.

“Great and all-powerful Iron King, if you assist me in my mission of conquest, you will have the pleasure of killing the king yourself,” he said.

Jun Kun looked forward.

“Very well, my forces and I will accompany you. However, I would prefer to attack Knothole first and then Mobotropolis,” the ox stated.

“Agreed. Thank you, your majesty,” Robotnik replied.

And so, the alliance between Robotnik and Jun Kun began.

*The scene cuts back Ali*

Ali: Lastly, there were Anti-Levi and Anti-Aleena, two powerful and villainous hedgehogs from a different realm who were the evil versions of King Levi and Queen Aleena with freakish powers of all sorts. Their children, Scourge, Anti-Manic and Anti-Sonia, the evil versions of Sonic, Manic and Sonia, were incompetent, and thus the frequent victims of their parents wrath.

*The scene cuts to Anti-Levi, who has orange fur, black quills, green eyes and a vertical scar over the right eye, and Anti-Aleena, who looks exactly like good Aleena, only wearing ancient Egyptian clothing, raging at their children: green-furred Scourge, brown-furred Anti-Manic and magenta-furred Anti-Sonia*

“Fools! This is yet another in your long line of failures!” Anti-Levi shouted, the red-and-black cape that he wore billowing behind him as he moved.

“But Father…” Anti-Sonia began.

Anti-Levi turned in a fury, his golden, ruby-eyed, cobra-headed staff tapping the floor as he did so.

“Silence!” he bellowed.

Anti-Aleena came to him.

“Dear, why don’t you use my fire cats? They’re better than our children,” she said.

From the top of a tall platform that he had ascended, Anti-Levi looked out a nearby window. He was thinking hard about his plan to overthrow King Levi and rule the Kingdom of Hedgehog. It was then that Anti-Manic stepped forward.

“What do you expect us to do? Kill Levi?” he asked.

Levi turned with a wicked grin on his face.

“Precisely,” he said in a menacing tone.

*Without warning, he leaps down, and using his powers to create bursts of green steam that come up from the floor, walks over in an extremely intimidating manner. He begins to sing to his children, singling out Scourge in particular*

Anti-Levi:

I know that your powers of retention

Are as wet as a Terrapod’s backside

But thick as you are, pay attention

My words are a matter of pride

It's clear from your vacant expressions

The lights are not all on upstairs

[On the lyric ‘Pay attention’, Anti-Levi strikes Scourge in the face, causing him to come to attention]

But we're talking kings and successions

Even you can't be caught unawares

[The next shot shows Anti-Levi strutting in a theatrical manner]

So prepare for a chance of a lifetime

Be prepared for sensational news

A shining new era

Is tiptoeing nearer

Anti-Sonia (speaking): And where do we feature?

[He grabs her cheek and pinches it hard]

Anti-Levi (speaking): Just listen to teacher

[He resumes singing as his daughter rubs her cheek]

I know it sounds sordid

But you'll be rewarded

When at last I am given my dues

And injustice deliciously squared

Be prepared!

Anti-Manic:

Yeah, be prepared. We'll be prepared...for what?

Anti-Levi:

For the death of the king!

Anti-Manic:

Why? Is he sick?

Anti-Levi:

No, fool, we're going to kill him. And his family too...

Anti-Sonia:

Great idea! Who needs a king?

Anti-Manic and Anti-Sonia:

No king! No king! La, la, la, la

Anti-Levi:

Idiots! There will be a king!

Anti-Manic:

Hey, but you said...

Anti-Levi:

I will be king! Stick with me, and you'll never have problems again!

Anti-Manic and Anti-Sonia:

Yay! All right! Long live the king!

[Anti-Aleena then proceeds to summon an army of fire cats that appear from nowhere. These fire cats are large and can speak.]

Fire cats:

Long live the king! Long live the king!

[A cloud of steam obscures the picture and then fades to reveal the fire cats goose-stepping in front of Anti-Levi, who is standing on a ledge]

Fire cats:

It's great that we'll soon be connected

With a king who'll be all-time adored.

Anti-Levi:

Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected

To take certain duties on board.

The future is littered with prizes,

And though I'm the main addressee,

The point that I must emphasize is

You won't get a sniff without me!

[There is a burst of flame. Anti-Levi sings as the fire cats chant and sing around him]

Anti-Levi:

So prepare for the coup of the century

Be prepared for the murkiest scam

Meticulous planning

Tenacity spanning

Decades of denial

Is simply why I'll

Be king undisputed

Respected, saluted

And seen for the wonder I am

Yes, my quills and ambitions are bared

Be prepared

Anti-Aleena, Scourge, Anti-Sonia and Anti-Manic:

[They all give an evil laugh]

Chapter 3


In Knothole, the night had passed and daylight shone once more. Today was the last day before Sonic left to ask for Princess Sally’s hand in marriage. At the moment, Sonic was watching Amy practice her power, which was to pull a giant red and yellow hammer out of nowhere. With this hammer, she was a fierce and powerful fighter. He watched as she fought against mechanical practice dummies made for this kind of use by Chuck.

“Good job, Amy! Keep it up!” Sonic said to encourage his young cousin.

Just then, Aleena walked into the training room.

“Son, your father and I wish to speak with you and show you how you’ll be getting to Mobotropolis,” she said.
Sonic followed his mother to the entry to the royal menagerie, where his father waited. The yellow hedgehog, even at rest, showed his commanding presence as he stood there in his gold crown and indigo cape. Indeed, he was every inch the great warrior king that the kingdoms spoke of. However, Levi preferred peace and used his great wisdom in order to try and guide his kingdom in that direction. Sonic bowed respectfully to his father.

“Dad, you wanted to see me?” the speedy blue prince asked.

“Yes. You see, Sonic, it is a tradition in our kingdom that when we go to another to make a grand parade entry. Now it is your turn to carry on that tradition,” Levi began.

The king showed his son around. They exited the indoor portion of the menagerie and went over to a large fenced area.

“This, my son, is what you will be riding,” Levi said as he gestured to the creatures within the fence.

Sonic looked to see several very large animals eating the green plants given to them by the animal keepers. They were Terrapods, large elephant-like beasts that stood thirteen feet tall at the shoulder and weighed 15,000 pounds. Terrapods were native to Mobius’ grasslands and were the planet’s largest land herbivores. The citizens of the kingdoms, especially those of the kingdom of Hedgehog, had domesticated them for riding and for use as beasts of burden. However, with the invention and use of various mechanical vehicles, the use of Terrapods was now largely limited to ceremonial displays among the nobility.

“If this doesn’t get the princess’ attention, I don’t know what will,” Sonic said.

“Yes. However, you must also remember to be humble,” Levi reminded.

“I’ll try,” Sonic replied.

“No. There is no try. There is only doing,” Levi stated.

“I’ll remember that,” Sonic answered.

And so, Levi and Aleena showed Sonic the other elements of his entry parade, including the ornate platform which would be placed on the Terrapod’s back for him to sit on. It was painted a beautiful shade of red and boasted gold leaf accents. Inside the seat box was a comfortable upholstered cloth seat.

“Very nice,” Sonic told his parents.

Levi and Aleena smiled. The rest of the day was spent preparing for Sonic’s departure. After dinner, Sonic went to his room, brushed his teeth and then went to one of the relaxation chambers to hang out a bit before bedtime. He sat down and got comfortable on one of the large, soft couches. Just then, Mira entered.

“I thought you might want someone to keep you company while you were here,” the leopardess said as she sat down next to Sonic.

“Thanks,” Sonic replied.

“Tomorrow’s a big day for you,” Mira continued.

“Yeah, I’m going to court my future queen. I hope it works out. It would be way past cool if it did,” Sonic answered.

Sonic waited for Mira to answer. When she didn’t, he looked at her and saw that she had a flirtatious gleam in her eyes. It was the same gleam that she took on during their flirtations. Without speaking, Mira moved close and embraced Sonic.

“I wish you the best, but if it doesn’t work out between you and the princess, remember that I’m always here for you,” she said.

It was then that Sonic and Mira shared one more kiss.

“Consider that a good luck gesture,” Mira told him.

They hung out a bit more and then left the room to go to bed. Sonic got to his room, laid down in his comfortable bed, set his alarm clock, got under his covers and fell asleep. Very early the next morning, the alarm went off. Sonic immediately got up and headed out, for he knew he had to get ready. He got in the shower, dried off and went to meet his family. They too had all gotten up and bathed.

“Well, bro, today’s the day,” Manic said.

“Indeed. I wish you success,” Aleena told him.

Levi, Sonia, Chuck, Hana and Amy also gave their encouragement. As the sun continued to rise, the royal family’s friends also began to get ready. Soon the sun was up, and it was time for the final preparations and for final goodbyes. Under Levi and Aleena’s direction, the animal keepers brought the mature male Terrapod from the pen. With the aid of the keepers, a scarlet cloth cover was placed on the animal’s back and then, with the aid of a crane, the decorative seating platform was placed on top. The animal keepers then buckled it in place. Around them, other keepers loaded smaller but equally dangerous creatures from the menagerie into wheeled cages pulled by Cape buffalo-sized armored reptilian beasts of burden with dull green scales known as Placimodos. Harmless creatures were also loaded into their own cages. Sonic’s siblings, friends, the dancers, swordsmen, musicians and other Mobians who would be participating in the parade also got ready. Soon, everything was ready to go. Everyone turned their attention to the palace doors.

“Hail Prince Sonic!” Levi shouted.

At the king’s words, the palace doors opened wide, and Sonic walked out into the morning sunlight. He wore a golden crown, and a blood-red cape with gold trim was draped over his shoulders. He bid farewell to his parents, uncle and aunt first and then turned to Amy, who would be staying home due to the fact that Sonic would be away for awhile and that time period would be a bit too long for her to be away from her parents.

“I wish I could go with you,” Amy said.

“Don’t worry, Amy. When I return, you’ll be one of the first people I look for,” Sonic replied.

“Really?” Amy asked.

“Really,” Sonic said as he hugged his young cousin.

Sonic then walked up the ramp that had been set up next to the Terrapod so that he could get into his seat. Once he was in, the parade began its journey to Mobotropolis. As he left the palace, Sonic heard the voice of one of his other friends, Vector the crocodile, who didn’t live in the palace but had come earlier this morning to say goodbye.

“I’m rooting for you!” Vector shouted.

Sonic smiled. Soon, the parade was out of sight. It traveled until it reached Mobotropolis. In the palace, Max, Alicia, Elias and Sally were relaxing in the throne room when, all of a sudden, a loud trumpet fanfare sounded. The Acorn family rushed to the balcony and looked out at their city. A huge parade was in progress.

“It’s the prince from the Kingdom of Hedgehog,” Alicia said.

*The parade song begins*

MARCHERS: Make way for Prince Sonic!

SWORDSMEN: Say hey! It's Prince Sonic!

KNUCKLES:

Hey, clear the way in the old bazaar,

Hey you, let us through, it's a bright new star,

Now come, be the first on your block to meet his eye!

Make way, here he comes

Ring bells, bang the drums

You're gonna love this guy

(KNUCKLES mingles amongst the different crowd members)

Prince Sonic, fabulous he, Sonic the Hedgehog!

Genuflect, show some respect

Down on one knee

(The Terrapod marches through town, Sonic on its back.)

Now try your best to stay calm

Brush up your Saturday Shalom

And come and meet his spectacular coterie

(Sonic is shown waving to the crowd.)

Prince Sonic, speedy is he, Sonic the Hedgehog!

Fast as ten regular men, definitely

Manic:

He faced the Badnik hordes

Sonia:

A hundred bad bots with swords

Knuckles:

Who sent those goons to their lords, why Prince Sonic!

CHORUS OF MALE JACKALS (Carrying the kudu): He's got seventy-five golden kudu!

(In pops Knuckles, acting like a typical parade commentator)

Knuckles: Don't they look lovely, Bunnie?

Rouge and Mina (On a float): Purple hornbills, he's got fifty-three!

(In comes Bunnie, also acting as a parade commentator.)

Bunnie: Fabulous, Sugar, I love the feathers!

KNUCKLES (he is off screen, a large wheeled cage containing a Cave lion rolls by):

When it comes to exotic type mammals

Has he got a zoo, I'm telling you

It's a world class menagerie!

(We cut to a balcony, where Leeta and Lyco are joined by Mira.)

Mira:

Leeta and Lyco (in counterpoint):

Prince Sonic, Handsome is he, Sonic the Hedgehog

(There's no question this Sonic's alluring)

That physique, how can I speak?

(Never ordinary, never boring)

Weak at the knee

(Everything about the man just plain impresses)

Well, get on out in that square

(He's a wonder, he's a whiz, a wonder)

Adjust your veil and prepare

(He's about to pull my heart asunder)

To gawk and grovel and stare at Prince Sonic!

(And I absolutely love the way he dresses!)

CHORUS: He's got ninety-five white Mobian monkeys!

Town guards: He's got the monkeys, let's see the monkeys!

He's got slaves, he's got servants and flunkies!

They're just lousy with loyalty to Sonic! Prince Sonic!

(Sonic throws gold coins out to the people, who rush over to collect them. The parade marches up the steps of the palace and inside. Everyone runs back inside to the door to the throne room. Suddenly, it bursts open, with the terrapod leading the way. The whole parade enters.)

KNUCKLES and CHORUS:

Prince Sonic!

Amorous he! Sonic the Hedgehog!

KNUCKLES:

Heard your princess was a sight lovely to see

And that, good people, is why

He got ready and dropped by

CHORUS:

With sixty Terrapods, llamas galore

With his Nandi beasts and Sabertooths

A brass band and more

With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers

His birds that warble on key

Make way for Prince Sonic!

(More and more fanfare builds up until Sonic leaps off the Terrapod’s back, spin-dashes around the room and lands right in front of King Max).

“Your majesty, I am Prince Mufasa, AKA Sonic the Hedgehog, and I have traveled from my kingdom to seek your daughter’s hand,” he said.

Max gestured at Sally.

“Well, here she is. Prince Mufasa, meet Princess Sally Alicia Acorn,” he said.

Sonic looked at Sally. She was absolutely gorgeous. He went over and kissed her paw.

“Wow, I’ve heard that you were beautiful, but never that you were this beautiful,” he told her, his tone revealing that he was clearly interested in her.

Sally smiled.

“Thank you, Prince Mufasa,” Sally said.

"Please, call me Sonic," Sonic replied.

Sonic then gave Sally some gifts of gold jewelry that he had brought for her. At this same moment, Elias noticed Sonia standing near the Terrapod and was smitten with her. He decided that he would speak with her later. Sonic looked back at Max.

“Thank you for having me. My father sends his regards,” he said.

“Ah, your father. I’ve heard of him. Not for nothing is he called ‘the Lion King of Knothole’,” Max replied.

Sonic then proceeded to introduce his friends and family as the servants led the other participants to their lodgings. Sonic’s mission to court Sally had begun. So far, Sonic wasn’t like the other princes, but Sally decided she would watch him carefully. As well, Elias prepared to try and court Sonia.
