Prologue
Spoiler: show
The breeze blew fiercely; it carried the leaves away from their homes high above the ground as it brought them gently down to the moonlit earth below. In the beautiful country side of Kansas, there was a town known as Smallville. The town was fairly vacant, everyone knew each other. They knew the people who did what was right, but they also knew who did wrong.
Every town has known good doers, people who truly care about each other and look out for everyone as though they were family. Though while good resides, evil is like the next door neighbor. Occasionally there is the in-between, someone who doesn't know which side they stand on.
A group of teenagers dashed through the dim light that the moon so graciously gave off. The sounds of sirens echoed throughout the night. The group turned a corner, hiding in a dark alleyway. The group consisted of three high school students, two of them looked older in age, looking maybe eighteen or nineteen. One was darker in skin color, they all had masks on. The other was taller and had pale skin, which had grown even paler with the sound of the sirens racing past him.
The youngest of the three looked to be a sophomore, he was average height for his age and hidden behind his mask was short black hair. Through the eye holes of the mask you could see vivid emerald green eyes.
Finally the darker toned one spoke in a whisper "Do you think they're gone?" his name was Kobes. He looked around the corner, his heart was racing. "We're good to go." he whispered back to his friends.
The senior of the group decided to step out of the alleyway. "Nice. Just wait until we see their faces!" He looked back at his younger protégée. "Good job today Dean, I didn't think you had it in you."
The youngest of the three smiled half heartedly. "Yeah, thanks. Now just don't forget about your end of the deal Jon…" Dean walked towards the end of the alleyway, removing the mask that kept his face well hidden as he stepped into the open. "Alright I'll see you two in school tomorrow."
Kobes and Jon followed Dean's lead and removed the masks that covered their face. "Where are you going man? You're one of us now…" Kobes said as he put his hand on Dean's shoulder "… besides, the night is still young."
Dean turned to face Kobes and Jon "I think it'd be best if i got home before my mom realizes I'm gone. After all, we don't want to get caught do we?" the sound of the sirens still resounded far off, though getting louder and louder as they talked.
"Yeah i guess you're right" Jon nodded his head in agreement. He reached into his bag and pulled out a denim jacket. "Here, this is yours. Now it's official you're one of us."
Dean put the jacket on. It was navy blue with an insignia of a hydra on the back. "Fits perfectly, thanks man!" Dean gave Jon a knuckle bump as they parted ways.
