Bambi didn't remove the slight msile on his face even when Gurri asked the question about Ronno. He was just about to answer it when Faline told her it was time to go to sleep. He knew that he'd have to tell her and Geno at some point. He smiled to himself as Gurri tried to resist her mother's request. She was just like Faline when she was her age, curious and energetic all the time. He smiled back at Faline's words, "And Gurri is just like you." He then stayed silent for a few moments when Faline asked about man. "I don't think so..." he asked, although he had no idea whether he was wrong or right about this, "They never came this far into the forest..." He noticed Faline was a little down-hearted, "Don't worry, I'll do what ever it takes to keep you and our fawns safe."

Faline smiled and said to Bambi, "You don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself." She looked at Bambi and told him, "When Ronno tried to...force me to go with him I was scared I would...lose you forever." She looked at Bambi and remembered what he said about protecting her. "I don't want what happened to your mo..." She stopped and looked down. "Sorry Great Prince." Suddenly a smell of Man came through but this man also had the smell of hundreds of deer killed including the smell of Bambi's mother and Faline's father. The forest seemed to have plunged into total darkness when this man entered. The rattling of antlers was heard, the call of a doe and buck, and even growling dogs. Gurri sensed something and woke up, "Mother wha..." Faline gave her a look that silenced her at once.

Bambi smiled slightly at what Faline said. But he tried to comfort her as she mentioned his mother, "It's okay, it wasn't your fault."
Then he could smell man, looking at Faline he could see that she noticed it too. Even though it was already dark, Bambi couldn't help but worry about man noticing him and his familly. After a few more moments he could hear dogs growling. He moved closer to Faline and her their fawns, making sure they were all close to him and kept quiet.

You could hear Man fiddle with his rifle and come very close to where the deer were hiding. He saw a bird fly and Man shot the bird with his thunderous stick. Gurri was absolutely terrified and accidently made a sound making the dogs raise their ears and growl. One of them kept inching closer towards the den, teeth bared and claws out. Man in words that could not be understood called off the dogs at the last minute though he pointed his stick toward the den preparing to stay there looking all night if need be for deer to emerge. The dogs had their teeth bared ready for fresh meat to sink them into.

Geno was awoken by the sound of the rifle, how ever his father noticed it and quickly put his leg around him, making him feel safe so he doesn't make any noise. Gurri on the other hand was terrified. Lucky for them the man called his dogs at the last moment. Bambi was frozen, man had never came this deep into the forest before, he was worried for the safety of his mate and fawns. He could hear and sense that man was still there, he quietly looked at Geno and Gurri telling them to keep quiet.

Man quickly raised his stick and shot in the direction of the den just barely missing Gurri. She was scared out of her mind at this creature. Why did that creature enjoy scaring and tormenting them. The dogs could smell tiny deer inside the den and licked their lips at such a prize in their bellies. However when they tried to get closer their Master called them back. He pulled out his other stick and a sound came back from two different voices one male and the other female. "I'm here" said one, while the other said, "Come and fight me!"

Geno almost shouted as man shot his rifle again, noticing that the shot barely missed his sister. Bambi noticed it and became mad, gently moving a little so that Geno and Gurri were safe behind his own body. Geno noticed it, and nudged his father slightly with his nose, wanting him to move. Bambi looked down at him, his expression meaning one word; 'no'. Bambi could sense the dog coming closer again, but their master called them back again. Then he heard the other two voices, the one of a female and another male, he didn't know who and what were they.

The male voice kept saying, "Come and fight me!" It then changed and said, "I said come you coward!" The female voice, said, "It's me! Come on! You know who it is!" Gurri looked at her father knowing that other deer might be in danger by coming close to Man sounding like that. She looked at him giving him a look of if she could go out there and try to stop the deer. Man meanwhile seeing nothing was being accomplished motioned his dogs toward the den. If a buck or doe came from there trying to portect their young he would shoot them right in the chest right at the heart.

Bambi noticed that man was loosing his patience as he motioned to his dog to come towards the den again, pointing his stick at the exit. Looking down at his daughter he quickly looked at her dissaprovingly, knowing that they couldn't do anything to help the deers that were out there and were getting close towards the man. He also knew that if he went outside in order to try and protect his family, he'd get shot right away

The dogs inched even closer their snouts even inside the den smelling the fawns. Saliva just dropping from their mouths they looked inside and saw the First Family there and with their evil, red eyes they inched closer coming toward them. Man smiled knowing that this was the perfect plan and raised his stick ready to fire. The dogs growled at Bambi and Faline trying to get around them before the fawns. Faline looked at Bambi and knowing that it was either her or her fawns she went in front of the dogs which made them herd her toward the front of the den. However the hunter soon saw the doe and fired.
