Indeed Salazar was not amused by such a comment and felt the anger slowly rise up but managed to calm himself and did a smirk at Ada, "Yes we know your dear old dad was such a model student with his mediocre marks at this school Malfoy hahaha." Salazar then said, "Oh yeah I forgot to tell you Rose I tried out for the Slytherin Quidditch team."

Salazar's voice taunted Merope even more by saying, "For betraying me I'll kill those adopted Muggle parents of yours."

Rose looked up at Salazar.

"Oh really? What position did you go for? And when will you find out if you made it?" She asked, trying to steer the conversation away from parents.

Salzar said with confidence, "Oh I know I've made the team. I tried out for seeker of course." He then put his hand on one of the bookshelves and said to Rose with a wink, "So can I expect you to watch the games?"

"I'll keep my fingers crossed for you" She said with a smile.

True, she'd be supporting her own house, Gryffindor but she was pleased that Slytherin could gain a potentially good player. Most of the other players were not sporting at all and only cared about winning even if it meant cheating.

"Oh, I will be there" She said with a smile.

Salazar then told her, "Well if you'll excuse me I realize you smart folks wouldn't want a dumbie like me in your library." He walked away. A week later at the Great Hall the Headmaster said to the Houses, "I'd like to announce with special congratulations two Hogwarts students that have had perfect marks since they've been at this school this past week. Please Rose Weasley come up." All of the Houses cheered except the Slytherin table, who booed.

Rose felt her cheeks glow a bright red and she slunk down in the row as all the Gryffindor students looked at her and cheered. She smiled weakly and shakily got to her feet, ignoring all the boo's and jeers she was getting from the Slytherin table. Mia smirked at her as she walked past, but wasn't joining in with the boo'ing. She caught Scorpio's eye and looked away hastily. She hadn't forgotten about him.

Rose reached the front of the hall and awaited the Headmaster to say something.

The Headmaster said, "Yes well I better announce that second student now. Salazar Riddle please come up from the Slytherin table." Unlike Rose, Salazar immediately rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders and walked up half-heartedly before grumbling about this sort of attention. Those at the Gryffindor table looked shocked while those at the Slytherin table were shocked at first as well before they cheered for him. Salazar grumbled and said sarcastically, "Woo hoo."

Rose looked over her shoulder and saw Salazar approach the front of the great hall. She felt even more embarrassed now and she quickly looked at the floor infront of her which had suddenly become very interesting. When Salazar reached her, she looked over at him for a moment, smiled and whispered;

"Congrats"

Salazar simply grumbled and muttered to Rose, "Now I'll be thought of as someone who reads books all day." After that was over everyone was dismissed back to their classes however suddenly Salazar saw Albus and Merope walking together and confronted them while no one was around, "Hello sister. See if you had stayed in the best house there was, Slytherin, you wouldn't be stupid and have gotten an award." Albus glared, "She's not stupid!" Salazar then told Merope, "I hope you remembered to tell your adopted Muggle parents goodbye before you left for Hogwarts," he said in an ominous tone before walking away.

Rose went back to the Gryffindor table to find her cousins. She couldn't see Albus, but she spotted James.

"Well that wasn't embarrassing at all" She said, picking up her bag from the seat she had left.
