Melony watched from where she was, hoping nothing would go wrong.

Jempa went to Hammy. "Hammy, can I talk to you for a moment?" he asked. "What is it?" Hammy asked. Jempa sighed. "Hammy, you need to put this despair aside. You will never be Balto," he said. Hammy's jaw dropped open. "What's going on here?!" he called out.

Even from where they were Melony and the others could hear Hammy's call. "Do you think we should go back Jempa up?" she asked, looking at her team mates.

Samson nodded. "Yes, let's do so," he said as he walked over. Hammy was glaring at his friend. "What is going on?!" he demanded. "I'm sorry, Hammy, but we needed to tell you," he said.

Melony walked over with her team mates but decided not to say anything.

Hammy then focused on Samson and Melony. "Were you two in on this?" he asked.

Melony took a deep breath, "All of us were."

Hammy stepped back in shock. "Why?!" he shouted.

Melony sighed, "You have to understand that you will never be your grandfather," she hurried and added, "nor do need to be."

Hammy growled. "My grandfather is a great dog. He's what any sled dog should seek to be like!" he said.
