Leah then got up, and looked down at Ronno with an angry look, "Well I don't think that way! When are you going to stop being so negative?"

Long Ears picked up the grass and walked back without saying anything. To his surprise his mate wasn't angry, and she in-fact apologised, "What? I mean, uh... You are?" he asked, sounding both confused and surprised

Geno just sighed and puched the thoughts about Marena out of his mind as he continued leading them quietly through the forest. Thumper had no idea what was it all about, and so he jumped onto Gurri's back instead and quietly whispered to her. "What's wrong with your brother?"

Ronno sighed and looked at Leah. "I know. I apologize. You put up with more than you deserve."

Long Ears' mate sighed and said, "Yes I am. I don't know why I was so angry. I apologize." Bambi smiled and said to his friend, whsipering, "See I told you everything would be okay." He smiled.

Gurri was surprised by Thumper's question and tried to whisper to him, "I'll tell you later when Geno is not here. Once I tell you I think you will understand everything." She sighed herself feeling bad for her brother.

Leah then turned her frown into a smile, "That's more like it." she said and lay back down, this time laying down next to Ronno and cuddling up to him.

Long Ears managed to smile at his mate despise how confused he felt, "It's no problem." he said, before placing the grass he had brought next to her. "I hope this will do."

Geno hadn't heard Thumper and Gurri whispering to eachother and continued walking in his dad's usual patrol course. It was a moment later when he suddenly stopped. Garo only noticed that his friend was no longer walking when he nearly bumped into him. "What the... Geno?" he asked, but all Geno did was stand there and stare

Ronno smiled and said, "I love you Leah. I love...Garo as well."

Long Ears' mate sighed and said, "Yes." She started eating the grass. Meanwhile Bambi the skunk went next to Long Ears and said, "I wonder when your father will return Long Ears?"

Gurri suddenly stopped talking and too noticed that Geno had stopped. "What's the matter Geno?" He just kept staring off into one place. Meanwhile, the doe continued going the other way and eventually stopped. She noticed other bucks passing by but she easily got away from them. Once she noticed no one was in the area she continued walking.

Leah smiled and placed her head under Ronno's, enjoying the close contact which they hadn't had for a long time. "Of course you do." she said, closing her eyes and relaxing at the contact.

Long Ears finally let out a sigh of relief as his mate finally accepted the food he had brought. He started eating some himself before looking at Bambi the skunk, "I dunno." he said with his mouth full, "You know him he shows up out of nowhere when he wants to."

Geno continued to stare, "I..." he could feel their dad was around, but for some reason he began walking a different direction. "It's dad... He's... He's heading back to the meadow." But why did he change course all of a sudden? He wouldn't head to the meadow just like that unless... It was then when Geno realised the reason. "We have to get out of here." From what he could tell, Man was approaching from the deeper part of the forest. If they wanted to get away, they would have to go through the meadow and into the forest on it's other side.

Ronno enjoyed it as well, not having this kind of experience with Leah since they first met. However unfortunately the moment was ended. Ronno groaned and said to Leah, "Listen there is no sound. Man is near."

Bambi the skunk nodded and said to his friend, "Well until then..." Bambi the skunk started to lay down and tried to fall asleep. He then noticed somthing and said to Long Ears, "It is strange it is so quiet all of a sudden."

Gurri immediately followed Geno back without question. Something was wrong and she could sense it. Meanwhile the doe too noticed the forest was quiet and she tried to find a place she could hide where she could hunker down. Once she did she would wait there until the sounds in the forest returned. Suddenly where Geno, Gurri, Thumper, and Garo were a shot rung out. Gurri picked up the pace and tired to get out of there as fast as she could. "Do you see Man?!" She started running even faster knowing what that creature was capable of.

Leah was too busy with enjoying that rare moment that she didn't notice that the forest had suddenly gone too quiet. She only noticed it when Ronno spoke it out, "Oh, not again..." she said, looking at Ronno with a worried expression, "What do we do?"

Long Ears didn't hear the quiet because of the sound caused by his chewing, but when Bambi said that it was too quiet, he swallowed and quietly listened. After a short second he looked back at his friend and mate, "Get inside the den." he said, picking up all the grass which was left so that there were no evidence of their presence.

Geno ran, hoping that the others were behind him. He heard the first shot, and it was coming right from behind them. They were faster than Man himself, so all it would take was for them to get to the meadow and then enter the forest from a different part of the meadow in order to loose him. "Keep running!" he yelled, not looking back. Long Ears held onto Gurri as best as he could so he wouldn't fall.

Ronno looked at her and said, "We have to hide ourselves from Man. If he can't see or hear us then we are safe." Ronno immediately got up and tried to find a spot where he and Leah could hide.

Bambi the skunk and Long Ears' mate complied. Suddenly more gunshots were heard. Bambi the skunk whispered, "I hope that is not anyone we know Long Ears." They then kept quiet for a while.

Gurri heard gunshots too and kept running even faster, making sure everyone was still behind her. The doe also stayed down after finding somewhere to hide. She was tired but wanted to make sure the forest was safe once again before she went to sleep. Suddenly her mind wondered back to that buck and wondering if he was alright but she quickly forgot it.

Leah nodded at Ronno, "Where do we hide?" she asked worriedly before quickly following him. She also looked out for a place they could hide but could barely think because of all the stress.

All Long Ears did was wave at his friend, silently telling him to keep quiet. He hoped that those gunshots weren't aimed at someone he knew and that his friends and father were somewhere safe.

Geno continued running, Garo and Gurri with Thumper on her back still behind him. When the meadow finally came into view, he brought his pace to an even higher level and ran faster towards the other side. Meanwhile Thumper was struggling not to fall off Gurri's back, "I think I'm getting too old for this!" he yelled, barely hearing himself because of the wind. The gunshots stopped, but they all knew that they would continue if Man got to the meadow before they've made it to the other side and entered the forest again.

Eventually Ronno finally found a tree that had fallen over a hill and saw that the leaves could hide both he and Leah. He made sure Leah got under there first and then stayed close to her so that nothing would happen to her.

Long Ears' mate however became more mad at Long Ears' hand gesture than Bambi the skunk. She looked very angry again obviously back in her 'mood.' "Are you telling me to shut up?!"

Gurri sped as fast as she could across the meadow running faster than she had ever done in her whole life. She never knew she could run that fast so it seemed fear could make you do things normally you couldn't do. She heard gunshots however and saw a few wisps of air zigzagging across the field. That made her to run even faster. She hoped she wouldn't get hurt or killed in the process. However once she made it across she noticed she was separted from the rest. She was the one who was lost!
