Rahks ears went back, feeling bad and guilty for his last actions towards the man Let us go see him...together. Our last talk did not end so well, no need for sour notes With that the group headed off down the hall to Vilkas' room. Sure enough inside he lay there beaten up and bruised Hello my friend Rahks placed his hand on the mans shoulder

Astrid looked confused. She had not seen Vilkas for sometime so was worried when they all started talking about him. She tugged at Silvers sleeve and Silver looked down at her.

"Mother, what's wrong with Uncle Vilkas?" She asked.

"He might be going to join Hircine in the clouds soon my sweet. Shall we go and see him?" Silver said, gently stroking her daughters hair.

She nodded and took hold of her mothers hand and her fathers with her other hand. Farkus felt his heart sink as they all entered the room where Vilkas lay battered and bruised. Silver kept a firm hold of Astrids hand to save her leaping onto him like she usually did. Aela looked on with sad eyes and sighed as Vilkas turned his head. He took in his surroundings and saw that they were all here.

"Don't pity me... I've been... An idiot" He said, the weakness in his voice clear.

"You've not been an idiot Vilkas" Silver said automatically.

Rahks held Aela close, wrapping his arm around her and kissed her head No you were acting on your feelings, any of us would, and in the end you did what matter most. You helped defend those you care about. I am sorry I never got the chance to raise my bow in you defence. For now...rest my friend and brother. May the day come where we stand side by side

"I... Don't...... Think that will happen" Vilkas said gloomily.

His head lolled to the side and Farkus rushed forward instantly so he was at his brothers side. There was a lost look in both brothers eyes and it was clear that Vilkas was dying right here and now. Silver sighed and hugged Astrid closely when she realized what was happening and Farkus gripped his brothers hand as if clinging to life with him.

"Don't go..." Farkus pleaded, not being able to imagine life without Vilkas in it.

"I go to Hircine now. To hunt forever more and chase the moon every night. One day... I will see you there my brother" Vilkas managed to say, but weakly.

Aela watched on, clear horror written all over her face. She had lived with and been a shield sister to Vilkas for many years and seeing him die despite all that had happened during their last encounter saddened her greatly.

"Farkus... Make sure you take care of your little girl... She's amazing.... And a real.. Companion.... And make sure... SilverEye doesn't... Run off again.... Rahks... You... Take care of Aela... And give her the love and care I so wanted to give her.... Aela.... Please... never change......" Vilkas wheezed, his voice barely a whisper now.

Silver let herself change into her wolf form in that moment and softly began to howl. Not a loud, war cry howl.. But a soft, gentle howl. Astrid looked up at her mother and tried to mimic the sound. Aela too let herself transform and also howled a gentle howl as Vilkas began to pass on into the next life.

Rahks stood and watched the scene unfold before him. Even he was fighting back some tears. Vilkas had not been the most welcoming or easy to work with, but at least he lived with honour and fought till the last. Rahks stepped forward and griped Vilkas' shoulder Thank you my brother. By life or death I will defend Aela. Rest easy now, I shall join you one day in the endless hunt. For now be at peace Rahks bowed his head in respect and went back to wrap his arm around Aela, who was now transformed. He raised his own head and let out a gentle roar

Vilkas coughed and felt the life leave him at last as the howls of sorrow filled the room. When Silver lowered her muzzle, she stood back in her Nord form and waited. She knew Farkus was going to breakdown and she had to be there for him. Sure enough, her husband got to his feet and stormed out of the room. Silver, went to Rahks and Aela.

"Could you keep an eye on Astrid for me?" She asked the pair.

Aela nodded instinctively and Silver thanked her with a firm nod of her head before rushing off after Farkus.

Astrid walked over to Aela and Rahks, tugging on Rahks belt gently to get his attention. He was so tall to the little nord.

"Has Uncle Vilkas gone to see Hircine?" The child asked him.

Rahks looked over and Vilkas. He had trouble fighting back his own tears, but for Astrid he had to. He knelt down and hugged her close and warmly Yes...sadly so, but do not worry, we will all see him again. He will be waiting for us in the hunting grounds then we will never leave each other again

Astrid nodded enthusiastically before running over to Vilkas and placing her dagger in his hands gently.

"I hope this helps you in the hunt Uncle Vilkas" She said softly.

Aela stood behind Rahks and took hold of his hand gently. It made her think of the hours she had spent by his bedside awaiting him to wake up. She was so glad he head done, so grateful. She clung to his hand as tightly as she could.

Farkus, as expected marched up to the Skyforge. Eurland was nowhere to be seen thankfully and there he yelled out to the heavens and broke down in tears. Silver waited a few moments at the foot of the Skyforge before walking up the stone path to join him. He was on his knees, clinging to the railing that overlooked Whiterun. Slowly, Silver made her way over to him and placed a hand gently on his shoulder.

"Let out your emotions. It does you good" Silver said softly.

Farkus grit his teeth and got to his feet and Silver automatically let her hand fall away.

"What do you know of it?" Farkus growled.

Silver remembered something Rahks had done when she lost Astrid so she followed suit. She pulled back her arm and punched Farkus full on in the face, causing him to stagger back. This was out of anger for his words and for trying to snap him out of this stupid phase.

"MORE THAN YOU KNOW! I LOST MY SISTER TOO! I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!!!!" She yelled, her own tears threatening to fall now.

Farkus massaged his cheek where she had hit him and Silver took a step forward, placing a hand on her husbands shoulder.

"It's the most unbearable thing to deal with. But ask yourself.... Would Vilkas want you to mope like this? Celebrate his life! Remember the good times. And remember.. You WILL be together again someday. Sure, you'll be apart for a while.. But you'll be together again. Just like me and Astrid" Silver said, her own shoulders shaking now.

Farkus looked at her, and she at him before they both embraced eachother to ease the others pain.

Rahks felt Aela on his hand. He turned to hold her a moment, then looked down at Astrid. He bent down again, this time bringing Aela with him. One arm round Aela and the other round Astrid he pulled thm all together and hugged tight for a while. He then stood up with a smile and laced his fingers with Aela's Come now, lets get a bite to eat, I literally havn't eaten in a day

Astrid let the two of them embrace her and she giggled slightly. At the mention of food, she nodded and took Rahks by the hand and pretty much started to drag him towards the entrance hall, Aela also being pulled by Rahks.

"I guess.. Food it is then. Hey, Astrid.. Slow down! The food isn't going anywhere" She called to the excited little child.

Sunset found SilverEye and Farkus looking out over Whiterun. After a few moments of sobbing, the pair of them had finally calmed down and were silent, until Farkus spoke up.

"How do you bare it? Knowing that she's gone?"

SilverEye looked over at him. She turned towards him and placed a hand on her chest over her heart.

"She's still with me. In here. Just like Vilkas is for you. I hold onto my memories of Astrid, so that she is kept alive forever. And the thought of seeing her one day again. Not to mention.. I have you and our daughter to keep me together. Aswell as my best friend and all the other Companions. You're not alone Farkus"

Farkus smiled softly through his tired, grief stricken eyes before walking over to Silver and taking her hand.

"We should get back inside... A celebration feast is in order I believe"

Silver nodded and hand in hand they headed back to Jorvaskar.
