Amadeus looked to Sardy, and then around the cart at several of the other creatures. The moon shone on his fur, sort of making him stand out amongst the others. He sighed as he looked forward now, and felt his eyes get droopy. After being knocked out, he'd expect himself not to be as tired. For reasons he could not explain his eyes were begging for sleep. He gave into the embrace of sleep, and closed his eyes for a good rest.
After several hours the cart creaked to a stop making Amadeus jump awake. He looked at where they were. In front of them was a gate to a huge fortress made of wood. The rider was standing in front of the gate, knocking on it.
"Come on you dolts! Flesh delivery of workers!" The rat snarled. The gate was slowly opened and the rat snorted. "About darn time!" The rat grumbled as he sat back down in the cart and began to drive it into the fortress.
As they entered, Amadeus looked at the horrific atmosphere of the fortress. The sun was high in the sky now illuminating everything in the fortress. The floor was made of dirt, and all around the fortress were small rock formations. It was there that many creatures that were chained to one another were mining the rocks for ores. There were guards all over, whipping the miners to get them to work harder. Amadeus was getting sick to his stomach, not because this was his fate, but because of the terrible conditions these prisoners were forced to live in.
The cart stopped again at another gate, smaller than the first one. This one was opened and the cart driver pulled into a large dark stone room. Several camp guards were with a rather sleek looking fox.
"Hallo ladies und gentlemen. This is my prison camp, and I am your varden! This room is where you will be living the rest of your life. If you cause me any problems at all...well...you won't be living very long..." The fox said with a grin. The fox's eyes were a dark brown, his fur a variant of red and orange, he wore black boots, gloves and a strange black coat.
"Unload them, and line them up." The fox said quickly to the guards. The rat guards nodded and quickly made their way to the cart, roughly grabbing the terrified creatures, as well as Amadeus, Sardy and Lilac. Amadeus stood in the line up with the rest of the prisoners.
"My guards will untie you, one by one and chain you to one another. Should you resist you will be killed. This place is not for rebels! Note that should you ever try to be a hero, you will be fed to my pet." The fox said with a chuckle. He took out a whip from his built, and cracked the air with it, making several of the creatures whimper. "This is what I like to call, an enforcer. If you aren't doing what you are told to do, then I'm afraid I'll have to use it." The fox growled. The warden made his way up and down the line looking at the creatures that were going to be working for him.
The warden stopped at a squirrel that was giving him an extremely dirty look. "What is with that look boy? Do you fear me?" The warden asked the squirrel. The squirrel snorted.
"Only thing that scares me is your atrocious breath." The squirrel murmured. Judging by the tone of his voice, he seemed to be an adolescent like Amadeus. His fur was black, and his eyes were amber. He wore a torn brown vest. The warden chuckled as he back handed the squirrel across the face. The squirrel fell to the ground, with a grunt.
"Idiot boy." The warden growled. "Latch them up boys!" The warden ordered as he made his way out of the exit in the front of the room, that was opposite to the way they entered with the cart. The guards began their work by first latching the shackle's around each of the creature's legs.
